Eleven, you still haven't backed up your statement that said a Sabres coach would get fired halfway into a rebuild. Your supporting example that you used is poor. Nobody can answer your question because any amateur fan can tell you a coach isn't going to be fired halfway through a rebuild.

Who's to say he'd get fired after a year and a half? I don't think Tampa was considered in rebuild mode a year and a half ago. If a team's goal is to blow it up and start from scratch I highly doubt a GM is going to even consider canning his coah because he doesn't make the playoffs for two years. The example you used really isn't comparable. So to answer your question I don't think a coach coming in is going to anticipate losing his job for a couple of years. I know I talk about the Panthers a lot but look at Dineen.

It's interesting seeing what Darcy thinks he might have planned for this team in the next couple of years, as I'm watching what the Panthers are doing down here with Tallon. Another piece of their new 'core' is about to make his NHL debut Saturday night, Nick Bjugstad.

That's the problem I have. I don't think Darcy has a definite plan. I think at this point he's just winging it. Many people agree a solution to a better team was to get rid of the 'core'. That should include Regier. If he intended to make big changes for the sake of improving the team now, that's one thing. If the plans are to start from scratch, somebody else needs to be in control. My apologies. This isn't the right thread for this.

Markstrom was to become the starter by mid season. Theodore was going to be deadline trade bait. But, I see your point. It took Miller some time to become the starter too, the lockout didn't help. I agree, they are looking pretty good already as a team and they're just starting to come up. Still have a few guys left to bring up. It's fun watching this team, they know when they lose it's because of inexperience. They know they're only going to get better. Markstrom absolutely stuffed Stamkos to win the shootout tonight.
