Zegras had almost identical counting stats to Cozens last season, while playing almost 300 minutes more than Dylan last season.

In terms of fancy stats Cozens is actually a better play driver.

This is probably the hold up in negotiations,  Zegras wants to be paid as a 1C while Verbeek looks at McTavish and Carlsson figuring they are the Top 2Cs moving forward and will be paid as such in a few years. A Cozens Type Deal is probably what the Ducks are looking for.

Most likely this is the agent looking for leverage in negotiations

If Zegras is looking for a Cozens deal and Anaheim isn’t willing to do it I’d hope Adams is working on this.  Trade VO, UPL, Joker and/or a euro prospect (I really want Benson and Savoie to play the season together in juniors so that is why I’m not moving them) and a 1st to get Gibson, Zegras, and a 3rd and sign Zegras for 7x7.  He can play wing or center with Mitts on the 3rd line, or wing with Cozens on the 2nd line.

He’s an offensive, fast, creative player so I think he would do well moving to wing.  Plus we have a couch that does well with younger players so I think he can help him a lot in that move.

  2. Anyone blindly defending TP at this point has exposed their true character, and it’s not good.  Same for anyone assuming everything Trotter said is true.  Let’s see what evidence and statements come out of this case.

I appreciate the legal discussion earlier in the thread, and those calling out the ignorance (pretend I said silliness if the truth cuts too deep) of saying someone married to a minority or cannot be racists towards another culture or race.

Buffnill making the same joke over and over is significantly less annoying than continuously being told the deal is done when it clearly isn’t nor has been. Maybe those posters should drop it first.

I’ve been thinking about this and maybe both are true?  Maybe both parties have an agreed upon range based on what the salary cap and some of the other signings around the league come in at?  As this information started to become finalized, that would change the number on the contract while also adhering to the “agreement.”  This really just might be KA and the Sabres FO managing the salary cap and using that to negotiate these team friendly and/or fair market contracts with his core.

Just saw last night that his upcoming concerts, including tonight's, have been postponed. Hope you can get to the rescheduled show whenever that is. On the bright side, he is known to put on some epic 'make up' performances. Just his way of saying sorry for the inconvenience.

Yeah, I’m going to make sure I see him at some point on this tour, even if it was a different city.  Before I grabbed the Syracuse tickets I seriously considered making the drive to see the Asbury Park show.

  5. Picked up a couple tickets to see the Boss on Thursday in Syracuse.  First time I’m getting a chance to see him.

Also, some shameless promotion for my band.  Playing Friday at Timeless Babez on Allen St.  And check out our video for “Sunday Paper” we release last Friday if punk/metal/thrash is your thing 😁

I too chose JJP, think we saw a bit of what he will become towards the end of the season... seemed like the light bulb was going on... see Quinn as a steady improver... Krebs could take a big step as well but doesnt have the size yet to not talking height more strength to  take a huge jump but given how hard he works could see that jump late in the year... to me Power is an unknown as far as how much he truly jumps because he is so good now... I see as he gains strength his physicality could jump big time like Dahlin's did..  gonna be fun to watch!

I voted Power but I’ve loved watching JJP develop.  I don’t know if we have anyone that works along the boards the way he does and once he adds some more weight to his frame I think in 2-3 years he could be a combo Jochen Hecht/Vaclav Varada type player - effective puck possession in the corners and on the wall, but can also chip in 20+ a year.

To say a pit bull is not naturally violent is a blanket statement that it is very misleading and not back by statistics.  The highest percentage of dog attacks in the US are by pit bulls, and the large majority of the victims are family members, not strangers.  That gives a little credence to my comments.

Yes, the number one dog bred for fighting is also the number one dog responsible for bites.  That checks out but is not evidence not this breed can just “snap”.  And they bite family more likely because a lot of these abused dogs end up at shelters or rescues, or people don’t know how to properly train and/or raise a dog.

There are a lot of nuances that go into raising a dog, and the larger and/or stronger a dog is (no matter the breed) it requires more work.  Unfortunately a lot of people overestimate their ability and willingness to dedicate the proper amount of time to their dog, and then people start blaming the dog and not the person.

No.  Usually its the owner but those dogs can snap, even when the owner does everything correctly that he can.  The breeding over the past decades has been a problem.   The animal is flawed.

I just got bit by one last week.  The owner told me it was ok to go into the yard, I was reluctant to and I said no two times.  Still he insisted that it was ok with him there.   I am lucky the owner was in front of me to block its all out attack.  Still, he bit my arm (that I instinctively used as a shield) and he left deep flesh wounds.  Thankfully he did not get hold of my arm and clamp down on it.

It was the fault of the owner but that dog is a terrible pet that is a huge liability and does not belong in the suburbs.  He will attack everything in his sight if he gets loose.  I can still see his crazed eyes looking at me after the attack.  He had his lower jaw jutted and he was freaking out, even with the owner standing there holding him.  I want to go back and bash his head in with a baseball bat.  Yes, I am angry and this injury hurts.

BTW, my son has had one for 10 years and no problems, but the dog is a pain to deal with.  I used to watch his Pit Bull when he was a puppy but over time the dog has forgotten who I am.  I  cannot enter my sons house without him in there and handling him.  You have to be careful around him.  You cannot go into my sons bedroom, ever.  You can't touch my son the wrong way.   To be honest, I really cant wait for that dog to die.  My son will be devastated for awhile but the rest of the family will be relieved.   I will able to go to his house and relax, help him fix things, spend more time together, and not have to worry about the dam dog.  The dog is always guarding that house.

The Pit Bull is the worst choice you can make for a pet.  They are watch dogs, not pets.  Statistics don't lie.  The breed has been ruined by bad people who bred the dog to fight.  I  will never get near one again unless I have a bat or a gun.  I will never trust one ever again.  I am lucky to have a functional arm.

This blanket statement is 100% not true.  Pit bulls don’t “just snap.”  The only dogs I’ve ever been bitten by are a pug and a golden retriever.  Pits are high energy and require a dedicated owner to keep them busy, but they are not a naturally violent animal.

Ive had two pits and I will always have one for the rest of my life. They are some of the most sweetest, loyal dogs you can get, and the hysteria around them is misplaced at best.  They might look scary and have the capability to do a lot of damage, but so do I.

People can believe whatever they want, but a properly raised pitbull may be the most loyal and loving pet you ever own. I know the two I’ve had have been two of my favorite pets of all time, but like any dog, they require an owner that trains them correctly from a young age.

Let’s remember people that Miller gave up like 7 to Detroit in his debut and Askarov got lit up like a Christmas tree for Nashville in his debut. I hope Levi has a great game but if it doesn’t go smoothly no one needs to jump off a building or write an angry novel on here about it.😀

I think it was 5 goals but I remember Miller being near tears after that game. Levi seems to have that same drive towards excellence.

Correct.   I blame Russia for their ***** policies.

That said, it's an opportunity for the league/Sabres.   Give the Russian players the option to wear a normal jersey or wear a jersey promoting peace for Russia or some other noble cause that won't put their families at risk or oppose their religious beliefs.. no matter how archaic those beliefs may be.

This is kinda where I’m landing too: the league should’ve handled this better. Besides soccer, I can’t think of another league out there that is this culturally diverse. And unfortunately some countries have archaic laws and views that can lead to legal repercussions, which is a big deal when you are in the type of work that requires a visa.

NHL players supporting LBGQT pride is something to celebrate. It seems asking players to volunteer to wear pride jerseys during a warmup instead of mandating it would have protected each players personal choices, while still celebrating and respecting everyone’s differences.

It was a huge missed opportunity, especially if it was supposed to accomplish anything besides virtue signaling, because no one is better for it today.  Except for me, and my $50 level 100 tickets I scooped up this morning…

Comedians performing at comedy clubs is one thing, but several modern day satirists have said they will no longer accept invitations to appear at college campuses and that is indeed a sad commentary.

These types of gigs have always had restrictions. This is not a new phenomenon.

Personally I think this is a good sign. It’s good that comedians no longer have to play corporate and college gigs because they have other avenues for cash, namely podcasts.

Today, a comedian that doesn’t take a college gig indicates one of two things to me: 1) they don’t need the money 2) they aren’t creative enough or bold enough to perform their act in an “unfriendly” space.

And if #2 is the reason their act probably isn’t that great in the first place…

Sorry to sidetrack the thread.  Shalom Levi!  Go Sabres!

Edit: I created a new thread aboot comedy. Not sure how to move these posts over there though…

There is a reason comedy clubs are going extinct.

    This is just simply untrue.

There are 499 comedy clubs in the US, they have seen a 1% year over year decline the last 5 years, and they have a projected market size of $330M in 2023.  Source below (albeit not to APA standards).

It’s almost like a decisive narrative was introduce into the public discourse for the benefit of a few and somehow has made its way to a non-playoff teams message board as a pithy comment while the user is unaware their acceptance of that narrative continues to perpetuate it to no benefit of their own.

    Now THAT is comedy…

    😂😂

Todah for involuntarily coming to my Ted Talk.

Yeah, he can't work until his paperwork is completed.

Don't understand why he signed on Friday if they hadn't already had his visa/work permit applications underway.  There just seems to be no rhyme nor reason for this to happen on Friday rather than this past Monday or upcoming Sunday.

Hoping he gets the Nashville game but if it slides to the Devils game at least my kids can say they were there for his NHL debut.

I don't think he even can practice with the team until they get him a work permit...and I don't see why that wasn't done approximately 90 seconds after he signed.

Have you ever done anything with the federal government? Nothing is done in 90 seconds, or 90 minutes….

Even if you expedite a visa it will take 3-4 days minimum.  Unless you personally go to the consulate or whatever the government agency is that deals with these things.

My company uses a 3rd party that specializes in expediting visas and it is always a pain.  It can go a little faster if you have duel citizenship or had been approved for a visa for that country in the past.
