  1. Speaking of "expansion level bad," can someone explain to me how the Golden Knights are currently the 7th best team in the league while we are currently the 30th?

They have a relentless forecheck and they spread around the scoring with 3rd n 4th line guys. High goal differential too. Something Buffalo doesn’t have at all!

Plus VGK have a lot of speed and getting some good goaltending even though their top 3 goalies are out. Fluery should be back very soon. Lastly Gerard Gallant really has these guys prepared every game. It’s been a fun team to watch so far.

  2. I never thought as a now 20 year resident of Southern Nevada that I'd see my Sabres actually play here in a regulation game. Very excited to be attending tonight. I grew up in WNY and a grad of Orchard Park HS so I will be rocking the Blue and Gold #15 jersey tonight. But the Knights are now my favorite Western Conf team for sure. They have been off to a good start. Subban played lights out vs Boston on Sunday and was 30 secs away from a shutout. So awesome having two official teams to root for! But tonight I'll be hoping for 2pts Buffalo!

The Strictly Hip will be playing pre game outside NYNY Hotel and there are already tons of Sabres jerseys around town that i've seen. Many former WNYorkers live in Vegas so the T-Mobile will be rocking tonight with Blue n Gold!!

  3. I apologize if this has already been discussed (im too lazy to search it Ill admit), but I thought the CBA stated that a NCAA player must complete 4 years and graduate before he can become a UFA? Didn't Cal only play 3 years at ND, announce he's turning pro, and now stiffs Buffalo? I'm showing my ignorance here, but I just don't understand how he can become UFA without completing college? Help anybody! Thanks in advance.

  4. As we've seen in the past playoffs / regular season are two different animals in the eyes of the department of player safety. A better comparison would be Marchand only getting 3 games at seasons end on his 7th infraction to Risto getting 3 for a first time offence.

Good point. I guess my point is nothing is consistent for these suspensions at all; reg season and playoffs.

  5. Playing a zillion minutes every night doesn't help and, having played that many minutes, it's fairly likely he's nicked up by now.

Maybe not, who is another true #1 d-man on a team with virtually no other defensemen?

If the NHL were smart they would cut the schedule down by 10 games to 72. Season is too dang long. Plus I absolutely hate the Cup being awarded in June. It should end in May. It won't happen though because the owners would lose their precious profit. But gotta admit the players would be fresher though. Wishful thinking.
