Sabres we’re outplayed tonight, for whatever that’s worth.
They always have trouble with the Pens.

I seen enough of Reilly Smith and Erik Karlsson here out in Vegas. Both are older but Smith is a good two way player who is great on the PK. And last year all the games I watched Karlsson in he was a threat every time he was on the ice.

As an team, the Sabres have no clue how to defend the front of the net. And that doesn't mean knocking people down. They don't take away passing lanes, tie up sticks, block shots, lean on guys in front.
It's just open season on the goaltender.
That’s on the d coach to pound it in their heads!

The only thing to focus on here is putting Clifton into the waiver wire
Maybe the Bruins were smart and that’s why they let him walk

Don’t get me wrong, we have all been surprised on how well Benson has done. Yes, he needs to add more muscle but it isn’t like Bedard is a big guy as well. I think the kid has been great but I wouldn’t be shocked if they send him back. Plus we don’t know what the plan is for Savoie as well. I think the plan might be for Savoie but who knows. It’s crazy to think that Kulich was most likely get a spot on the team and then here comes Benson and Biro. I’m really liking what’s in the pipeline. These kids need time but it seems like the scouting staff has done in excellent job. Now what to do with VO and whatever goalie who doesn’t win the backup role.
-
Really like Benson but I just don’t see how they put him on the roster this season. I know Savoie is probably ready as well but Biro has been playing pretty damn good himself. Plus Benson can go back to juniors and play in the WJC and get much stronger. Savoie could play in Rochester and get primo ice time and heal that shoulder. If Biro has to clear waivers and is playing well then to me that’s an easy call. I thought Cedarqvist look pretty darn good to, like his size and he seems to move much better then Murray. really like a lot of this talent that this team has in the pipeline.

I think Biro is making the team.

He’s completely out of control and undisciplined. He’s also impulsive. He made some amazing plays doing it and now it’s showing. I think he peaked two years back. He will make amazing plays and then play completely undisciplined. It’s not changing. It’s his nature.
And this is why this team won’t win a Super Bowl unless they get a great defense around him. They couldn’t stop the run years ago and instead of addressing their needs it still continues. I never really get hyped up about the Bills because they always find new and creative ways to blow games.

Josh Allen started the day 17/21 and was driving before throwing that second pick. The Bills were completely on track to win this game, 23-13 or thereabouts. Dude is missing something upstairs.
He’s not elite like everyone thinks he is. He’s a really good quarterback but if you take Diggs off the team I think you see a major drop off in his production. They still can’t stop the run on defense and their offensive line I don’t think it’s that great.

Well that was fun. Gabe Davis has no idea how to get open. Ken Dorsey stinks. The offensive line is offensive and Josh is regressing.
I said years ago they needed to fix that offensive line and they need a young stud linebacker who can lead. Plus can someone tell Allen to start sliding and stop taking unnecessary hits. My guess if Diggs gets injured this offense will be in huge trouble and I mean huge trouble.

We could use all 4 of them.
No doubt, they are just what this current Sabres club needs. HOF goaltender and 3 guys you will bring that much needed toughness!

my old company used to outsource to russia for some of the programming work, and I was in charge of them. i really got to know a couple of them and they were amazing people. many would say how they hated the politics going on there.
i know no politics on this site, so i will leave it at that
That’s how I feel, I know some Russians here in Vegas and like almost all citizens they are being forced this *****.

I've been saying for years that the Russian hockey players should overthrow Putin! What's he going to do? Throw them out a window.
If that was the case Mexico and many other countries south of the US should overthrow their government since the cartels and criminals gangs are running those countries.

While I don’t agree with is stance on barring individual Russian athletes from competitions, I can’t blame Hasek at all for feeling the way he does about Russia. After all, his generation grew up under the yoke of Soviet suppression when Russia led other Warsaw Pact nations in the invasion of Hasek’s homeland in ‘68. The Czechs I’ve known have never forgotten or forgiven that Bloody Sunday.
I work with a Czech guy and he’s the hardest worker I have ever worked with. He can’t stand Russians. He hates them with a passion.

The Sabres don't need Tarasenko. They have the goal-scorers. A two-way forward would be nice; a goalie is more important.
Please no Hellebuyck, I seen him enough when playing Vegas and he gets lit up. I would call him Connor Hellasuck! No, to Tatar and Tarasenko.

I’m feeling a Hellebuyck Trade. No info just some rumblings and looking around to see where his market is.
Joki, UPL, Olo, 1st
I have seen Hellebuyck play against Vegas for 6 seasons and he always gets lit up.

I think this is an over pay for a has been, but it does address the depth problem. Veteran leadership on D? I don't love it but I don't hate it.
Suddenly too many righties? It will be interesting to see how the pairings end up but the depth has now been addressed adequately imo.
I agree with the over payment. What happened with Brett Pesce? Please no Hellabuyck in net. Seen enough of him play Vegas the last six seasons and he ain’t all that.

Vegas are $2.2 million over the cap now. Will have to make some moves.
Robin Mental Patient Lehner still on LTIR.

People can be pissed about Vegas but two teams really helped them get so good quickly. The Florida Panthers for Smith and Marchy and the Minnesota Wild for Tuch and Haula. All 4 players were instrumental in getting us to the Cup in year one and Tuch and Haula were moved later on for Eichel and Roy. You can blame two bad General Manager’s for getting taken!

I do not want the Sabres to select anyone at 13. I want that pick used in a trade. I don't think the team needs some guy who will break out in 2026. But Adams is going to Adams.

Jack showed everyone he’s a good player. Not a leader but very good on a deep team.
He’s lucky Vegas is Vegas. A group that rolls the dice and lives with it. Had Jack not had successful surgery and had to retire, Begas would’ve said whatever, who can we get next? They knew it was a risk, and took it. And good for them and Jack.
He’s looked happy and relaxed now that they’ve won it, and showed his lighter side.
I don’t doubt he wanted to win in Buffalo and knew he wasn’t their first choice and was surrounded by a lot of clowns at the start.
anyway, we got some great guys and we will be just fine. And good for Jack too.
I’m in Vegas and it worked out for both teams. Now that my Knights won it, it’s time for the Sabres to do it!

After watching Barbie since he arrived in Vegas. I’m hoping we don’t lose him. The guy was great!

He’s in major decline. I wouldn’t take him at all.

Is this the 1st time Jack's been part of a team that has won something? Wait i believe he was part of the US Junior squad that took gold some 10 years ago.
You'd think a player as great as Jack would've had more team success to speak of in his career. The fact that he hasn't is a story in itself i suppose.
I'm sure he's ecstatic, but Vegas winning the Cup seems less to do about Jack & more to do with the rest of the Vegas squad. In fact, Vegas had they not made the trade very likely couldve won the Cup anyways with Tuch & Krebs on their roster. Did Jack really provide Vegas with more than what Tuch would've? But yes i was one of those rooting against him & Vegas. Im just glad he didn't win the Conn Smythe like ROR because that mightve been too much for me lol.
But I dont hate that he won & i wish him no ill will. I do wonder what to do with my Eichel jerseys tho. Figured keep 1 for posterity & maybe add a letter in front of his name? F might work. No ill will i swear haha
Head coach, Cassidy, I think was a huge influence on his game

I totally agree on UPL. If they put him on waivers he would be picked up in a heartbeat.
Markstrom might be an interesting pickup.
