Stand pat, make the picks. I'd rather grow the prospect pool beyond the big clubs ability to absorb them all. This strategy affords a 2 pronged approach.

    1. Builds young, speedy, aggressive depth, forcing healthy competition for big club roster spots.

    2. Some of these picks will fizzle out. Some will fail to make the jump to the next level, but the larger the pool that does, they raise their value creating capitol the organization could use, if prudently done, could sustain us for the next decade as cup contenders.

So stay the course Adams, draft the picks.

    100% agree with this

But the NHL has to let them rebuild with Kane and likely Towes gone next season.

Big markets don’t have issues with tickets like small markets. Plus how many Cups did they win. Gee enough is enough with that crap!

This worry is always overstated to me

McDavid and Draisaitl are both probably better players than Bedard will be, and the two of them have led their team to a playoff series with home ice advantage just one time in their first six years (not counting covid crap since I don't know what the heck was happening there and the canadian division was garbage)

    Chicago has nothing right now

Chicago just won how many cups years ago. Sorry but big markets have no issues selling tickets. Chicago did this tank on purpose just like Buffalo did but Buffalo never had the assets that Chicago had before they started to sell off. A handful of those players were in their mid 20’s.

In KA's world, you want to be part of things here or you don't.  If Johnson is not on board, then move on.  It may even be argued that this draft is deep enough that the compensatory 2nd rd pick might become just as good a player long-term.  Obviously, that player won't be as NHL ready, but with 8 D under contract or control anbd cap space and assets to acquire UFAs or current NHL players, maybe signing Johnson isn't a huge priority for the team.

Think of it this way.  We paid a late 2nd for Greenway, a player in his prime, with two years left on his deal.  Maybe KA trades the compensatory 2nd for a D from a cap-strapped team.  Maybe LV will trade us 6'6" late bloomer Nic Hague for that 2nd?

Hague won’t be moved out of Vegas. I’m a season ticket holder in Vegas. Not gonna happen.

Tough tough loss.   Gonna be better off next season from games like this.  Thought they had too much anxiety in their game

still need to get bigger stronger throughout the line up   Not strong enough yet to fight through the holding and interference

silver lining of missing playoffs - more time in the weight room

BUT. not completely over, need PItt and NYI to collapse which is possible

Especially this - silver lining of missing playoffs - more time in the weight room.

  6. As a Vegas season ticket holder Eichel has really picked it up of late. This trade looks like it benefited both teams. Eichel has been really good and has been good on the defensive side of the puck. Marchessault and Barbashev are his line mates. Plus he usually plays left side of the powerplay.
