I just can't understand how the least watched and covered sports league in America can expand to 34 teams.
Doesn't seem like there would be enough interest.

What ever happened to Muel, the player?
He earned the nickname Muel with his style of play and projected future play that had fans excited about his potential.
Since then, hardly anything in his play has earned that level of appreciation.
I hate to say it but his legend might be growing along the lines of Kiko Alonso.

That’s pretty much it. This team is 4-5 years away from being a serious NHL team anyways. Let’s be honest.

This is true. Unless you're a Sabres fan.
Then, see above.

It doesn't to me. He's a 3rd pairing defender who's been mostly bad all year. If you think losing a 3rd pairing defender is a valid excuse than I can't argue cuz that's a legit feeling, but to me it's not an excuse. They will draft top 10 and Granato and Adams are to blame. More so to blame now because the Samuelsson contract was always questionable and Adams won't do ***** to fix yet another defensive hole.
I know the loss isn't that great, especially with the way Muel has been playing lately anyways.
That's why I can hear Adams already, excusing away another bottom 5 finish instead of making the changes they need.

Take your time bud. Seasons over.

Seasons over.
Sell all pending FAs.
Promote the kids and let em go.
Draft at the top again.
Try again next year.

If the NHL relocates a team I'd love to see one in Cincinatti as has been mentioned.

This move smells like another excuse for a bottom 5 finish to me.
I hate that that's my immediate thought but it is.

Get well soon Muel.
Your legend will grow with every game you miss.
I think the reason Muel is not more physical along the boards and in front of the net is because he always seems to be nursing something.
I keep expecting him to grow into a more physical, take care of your net front and sidewalls kinda defensemen but then I remember who his dad is.
Least physical 6'7" defensemen in league history.
Actually felt bad for the guy because he always had to answer other teams goons and he took a beating every time.

It was reported that McLellan was interviewed before the Krueger hire (along with Dave Tippett) and it was written that he told Pegula that Pegula's reputation around the league was as a man who lacked patience. Somewhat interestingly, today the fan base largely thinks Pegula is being too patient.
He probably figured when they were stalled out in the first round a couple years in a row, he'd get sacked.
Honestly I'd take playoffs and out over not making the playoffs year after year at this point.

He's got a free time year earning $5 million so he's not coming to Buffalo next season unless we gave him $ and term. Pegula will not do that, no way.
I know. It was mostly tongue in cheek but I do believe what I said about him as a coach.
He gets results, to a point.
Right now this team needs what he could provide.

Beef on Weck is still on the menu of every almost bar and restaurant in the region. Not a niche thing, its everywhere.
Wings have the advantage of being on the menu of the pizza and sub restaurants and many of them do not have Beef on Weck, but most bars, restaurants, and diners have it.

So with the Kings hiring Hiller on an interim basis, https://www.nhl.com/news/todd-mclellan-fired-by-los-angeles
That likely means one less good coaching candidate available for next season.
Get ready for another year of Granato.
McLellan is good enough for the next level since he usually gets his teams to the playoffs, should they choose.
They'll just need an upgrade in 2-3.5 years if they want to compete for the cup.

What does the rules say, could he play for Americans in Calder cup playoffs?
Would you play him if he could?

The thing that keeps coming to mind for me: Like all pro athletes (good "pros," anyway), these guys are year-round world class hockey players. So I'm confident that, if Quinn's well enough to play NHL hockey, he'll be raring to go -- even if there were only a few games left with Buffalo mathematically eliminated. He'd want to get that run in as he heads to the offseason.
Give him a little momentum going into the offseason. Makes sense.

Nobody should be untouchable.
All players have a value, can it be met is the question?

Adams has not made one impact trade since he's been here.
I hope he's gone in the summer
Doubtful. He's done nothing worth firing him for.
Other than he's done nothing.
Terry probably likes the slow play *****.
-
Might as well shut him down but I'd bet he wants to get back to play this season.

IF there's pending free agents the Sabres aren't interested in keeping who WANT to test the waters AND teams are interested in trading for them, I'd do it.
Move em out and move on.
No more getting the boys back together for another run, at futility.
Get some *****in players in here that want to win now and show it every shift.
Might have to wait till the offseason for that though.
