  1. i think they mean that a 59-save shutout is a record for a win in regulation time.

dom's 70 saves came after several OTs (which can only occur in the playoffs, so your point is valid -- they mean regular season).

Exactly. Dom was in 4OT. Also, Patrick Roy had 63 saves in the 1-0 3OT clincher vs. the Panthers in Game 4 of the Cup Finals.

  2. At 705, I'll bet 540 on the Pens :(

Edit: I meant 560. 560 on the Pens (thanks Assquatch)

At 905 now, almost back up to even! Two units (280) on the Caps for tonight......

Yes. I've somehow won that bet twice myself which is why I also am at a strange (non-round) balance.

Upthread, we had decided that if you go all in and win, you round up to the nearest multiple of 5.

  3. Standings as of November 3rd........no new entries from this point on.....make sure to wager at least once in November to stay alive.....

Shucks... I'll have to wait until the matchup at Philly on Nov. 21 as my safest bet on the underdog this month (or maybe @NJ Nov. 30). On a side note, I'll be in Philly for work 11/21 and looking to attend that game, if anyone has an extra ticket or wanting to go.

Ah screw it -- all in on Buffalo tonight, $100.

Updated board.....last night was a gamechanger.

And again.....if you are under a unit of $100, you are allowed to go "all-in". I will even be kind enough to round your winnings up to the nearest $5. Don't call ME negative!

If I have $100, am I allowed to go all in on LA (who is at -260)? Or do I only have the option to bet on an underdog? This is a slightly different situation than for someone with less than 100 (because I AM capable of following the multiples rule).

  6. Didn't see this posted, but the AHL schedule was released: http://theahl.com/st...ay=&division_id=

    • Opener (Grand Rapids at Rochester) coincides with the Sabres' home opener Fri Oct 4.
    • Sabres and Amerks BOTH home on BOTH Wed and Fri of Thanksgiving weekend.
    • They're trying to give us a reason to go to the Bills game in Toronto by having Toronto host the Amerks that Saturday night, Nov. 30 (Sabres in NJ that night).
    • Friday Dec. 13 Outdoor Game at Frontier Field
    • Amerks are off 12/22 - 1/2 for the Spengler Cup in Sweden (Home game Friday Dec. 20 for those out-of-towners like me, trying to catch a game over the holiday)

    Also,

The Houston Aeros relocated to Des Moines, Iowa and became the Iowa Wild but remained affiliated to the Minnesota Wild. The franchise previously known as the Peoria Rivermen relocated to Utica, New York and changed their name to the Comets.

  7. I'm pretty sure I've "complained" about this before, but it makes me so angry that I have to listen to this conversation several times a month...

I am sick of people in my department bitching about how much other people in the department make. STFU! Either realize that you are already making a fair wage and great benefits(which they are), and stop worrying about how much anyone else is making, or quit and see how much money you are really worth on the street.

This includes one of my own staff who keeps threatening to go to our department head with an ultimatum(pay me more or I quit), if some of the other complainers get bumped up in salary. Go right ahead. Let me know how that works out for you

    A$$HOLES!

    Read for them Matthew 20:1-16 http://usccb.org/bible/matthew/20/ :)
