You both need to move on. Adams doesn't do things quickly. That's a statement of fact.

@PromoTheRobot shows a pattern, he moves slowly as in the Eichel trade. Unsure why you're overreacting like this.

This is hilarious to me btw. I suggest Adams won't make a snap call and fire his coaches who in Tampa tonight, I get two posters questioning my characterization of him. Weird.

You are citing how long it took to move Jack Eichel, a player with a bum neck that needed a surgery few NHL players ever had, and who had $50MM remaining on his contract, as proof of his ineffectiveness as a GM. That is absolutely comical. Totally ignoring the level of difficulty of even obtaining a bag of pucks for Eichel in that state. (Which is what several posters were willing to take in trade.)

Which one of those moves was proactive or aggressive? Eichel took months on months to trade. So did Mittelstadt. Ralph took a 12 game losing streak.

Adams is slow to move, doesn't mean he doesn't move.

    Really??? That's your criticism?

How about that Comrie, what a great signing. Now they have to re-sign him for sure.

Typical Sabres. Late season finish and it'll give some people here just enough for them to preach everything's fine, stick with the plan, we are so close, etc.

The reality is they are basically the same as last year and out of the playoffs. They made no progress at all.

Bright spot of the season was Benson. I'd be fine to trade everybody else and build a new team around him. Only guy on the team that plays the right way every single night.

Biggest disappointments were Cozens and I'd say Levi after the hype. I wasn't shocked by it, and he has much future possibility but a lot of people had anointed him as this year's savior so you have to say it's a disappointment. Everything and everybody else was about as expected.

So I saw every game this year. I think that's more a sickness than an accomplishment.

    Now for real hockey.

Sorry they won and played well.

I hope everyone will take an interest in the Amerks playoff run. They are playing their best hockey now. I will start Amerk game threads the rest of the way. Consider getting AHL TV for the playoffs.

    Gotta Lose.

Once we were eliminated (really even before we were technically eliminated as we were a couple of games prior to that for all intents ..), I’d have brought a bunch of guys up and let them play. And I would not care about winning too much. We want the best draft position possible. Even if we decided to trade it for a vet the higher the pick the better.

I think the playoff race in the AHL prevented that. The Amerks can earn still the #1 seed in the conference.

I’m happy this ***** show is coming to an end. It may be the single most frustrating season I can remember.  At least the tank years were by design.  What has this abomination been?

Please. A **** show is under 20 wins. This was a mediocrity. This is the analog of the Bills string of 7-9 seasons. Not good enough for the playoffs, not bad enough for a top pick.

The league isn’t divided into only Comries and Haseks, as much as simplifying to such a degree serves your argument. Finding a goalie better than Comrie is absolutely possible because the bar is basically underground

It absolutely is possible, but he isn't in the form you suggested; an established reliable backup. Backup goalie isn't a job like an NFL backup QB is. In the NHL you are always fighting to be a starter. Backups are starters-in-waiting or journeymen who play on new teams every season until eventually get replaced by younger goalies. So I'm not sure why you want to roll the dice on a goalie who might get good when you need them, but probably not, or just playing your starter-in-waiting as a 1B in Devon Levi.

    Dude I LIVE here

    your sample size sucks

You are arguing about over a decade’s worth of data and using like 5% of the sample size to hone in on your argument

    Tis a bad argument

My point is what you "reasonably" want is doesn't really exist.

Id kick tires on a proven NHL backup to provide a safety net and make Levi earn the NHL.

I think that will be hard because the more capable options will be reluctant to sign with Levi looking over their shoulders.

They will sign someone. Fingers crossed he will be better than Dustin Tokarski and Malcolm Subban.

What exactly is a "proven NHL backup?" Eric Comrie fit that description in Winnipeg.

  9. I have a question. If you bought the single team AHL TV package, does that keep working through the playoffs, or do you have to pay for that too?

Just googled that. No, it doesn't. Playoff are a separate subscription. So... 💸💸💸💸

One note—Sunday’s game is in Utica (if anyone was thinking of taking the drive).

Also of note for all, the 4 & 5 seeds must play in a best-of-three series play-in round. ROC sure could use a weekend off to get healthy.  Beating Toronto on Friday will take care of it.

    My bad. You're right.

BTW Utica plays it's final 3 games back-to-back-to-back. Rochester will have Saturday off.

  11. It's going to be a crazy final week in the AHL. Crunch, Monsters, Amerks and Marlies all in range of the 1-seed. Comets, Rocket and Sens Fighting for the final spot in 5th. All teams have 3 games left except Laval with 2.

Wed. Marlies @ Amerks. Fri. Monsters @ Amerks, Sun. Comets @ Amerks.

On a non-game related note, a road game in Florida is one of places I have been to. The Arena itself is "OK" but overall not a great experience.  Its kinda in the middle-of-no-where.  There is a big outlet mall near it, but nothing else near it.  Most other cities, when you go to a hockey/basketball arena, you can walk around the city, within a block or two there are restaurants and bars and places to explore. This is more like a football stadium, just an arena surrounded by parking lots.

Its just very odd to me, its like they said "South Florida, you want a hockey team, there you go, the arena is far away from where everyone lives, and there is nothing to do around the arena, but there you go".

And they charge $30 for parking. 🤬. You can park for free at the mall but it's a mile or two walk. Agreed it's nothing special as an arena.

If the Sabres were in a playoff spot right now, we’d acknowledge they’re a flawed and young team dying for the playoff experience to find out what they really need to do for the future.

And we’d be happy. There’s lots to improve and still a good season. The foundation is there.

    Alas…

Wanna talk about a team not showing up with it's season on the line? The Caps.
