  1. i take back everything i just said a few posts ago - chris neil almost scored a highlight reel goal by dusting spacek and miller. i could swear a bag of cement would give that guy a run for his money in an intelligence test.....that said, and it pains me to say it, but props to neil for changing his game the way he has..... step away from the cliff...we play a team 8 times. and like i said, we just came off a tough four game stretch..
  2. guys, when i got back in from walking the dog to see we got lit up for 4 second-period goals, I was pretty pissed and feeling the same way... yeah, sucks to lose to ottawa again, but this is just the regular season. we beat carolina 4 straight this season and do you think they really give a sh!t if they played us in the playoffs? No. we just came off a streak where we beat a hot road team (caps), 2nd best team in the conference (thrash), and the defending Cup champs, so i would suggest catch up on some porn tonight, or get an early night sleep, b/c it could be worse for this team..we'll be fine.
  3. On another note about this same play/ruling, did anyone with Center Ice happen to turn over to the Habs/B's game for the last minute? If not, I can assure you that Jack Edwards is still on NESN and he is not only a 150% homer when the B's play the Sabres. After the B's made it 4-3 with less than a minute left Aebisher went out to play the puck; his body was outside the trapezoid, but the puck was inside. Edwdars began flipping out about the no-call. I know Brickley is a Bruins guy, but I think even he gets tired of Edwards. He tactfully disagreed with him w/o making him look stupid. Which if he had, would have made for much better tee-vee.
  4. miller was amazing the last 5 minutes! looked like a blast to be in downtown buffalo tonight! good to see the boys pull it out, but man, penalties really seemed to ruin two good teams going at it. happy turkey day boys. see you next time around
  5. is anyone watching TSN coverage - if so, did you see the story about concussions in the NHL this year? I guess 4 guys have already been knocked cold by bodychecks. I feel this is a no-brainer but wanted to know if anyone else had a thought - none of the bodychecks they showed seemed to be headhunting. The problem, IMO, is the equipment that these guys wear these days. It is like plastic body armour...
  6. does it seem like it is the same official that has made all of these calls? at least the previous phantom hooking calls, the hookee has the puck. that last call was a hook of the stick that was already airborne of a guy that didn't have puck possession.. puke....
  7. i don't know how anyone can enjoy this BS tonight. i'm sure i am just venting because tonight sucks because i have otherwise have enjoyed the new product, but you can't tell me you enjoy PP after PP. That's not hockey..
  8. dude, i long for the days of old-time NHL. This fuggin sucks. I'm sorry i know so many people love this new stuff, but I think this sucks. I am having a tough being happy about a 4-2 lead because of it...
  9. even when the bills suck there is nothing better than being at the Ralph. have a godo time!
  10. *Warning* this is a beer-fueled post: F--K the new NHL. Every call in that period blew balls. Atrocious. Toronto's penalties and Buffalo's penalties were absolutely f'ing atrocious. Look, I know at this point that guys have to understand keep your stick on the ice, but for cryin' out loud. Oh, and also, occassionally the offensive player will grab the stick of the defensive player. Please see this Mr. Official. It happened at least twice in that period. To me, that first period sucked. I don't pay money to watch PP's...
  11. nothing wrong with spoiling ourselves, but we just have to keep it in perspective. there are going to be rough stretches and honestly, how many times could they really keep playing so well minus so many important guys. sucks to watch a game where it feels like the team didn't give it their all, but as i said, it must be kept in perspective. we are still a solid team, in a rough stretch, but still off to one of hte best starts ever in franchise history.
  12. best line of the week came from Pierre McGuire of TSN when they did the game the other night while talking about injuries to Talinder and Lydman - let's see how well Toronto does without Kaberle and McCabe... I think maybe the injuries are catching up...
  13. is it me or does it seem like he has taken quite a few stupid ones recently?
  14. anyone know if this game is part of the Hockey Night in Canada coverage? If we are not going to get Rick and Jim on Center Ice than I am fine with HNIC - can't help it but get pumped up with the Saturday Night for Figthing song, etc... Makes me wish I was in Canada b/c of how Saturday night hockey is like Monday Night football here in the States!
  15. on a side note - and for those who watched TSN coverage on Center Ice - the line of the night came from Pierre McGuire. The play-by-play announcer was mentioning how only single seats remain for the home schedule and then there was a pause...before Pierre chimed in something to the effect, "It doesn't hurt that the football team in town stinks." On a down hockey night, that one-liner along with the Dodge Nitro commercial with the dogs made me remember it is just a game, remember to laugh, and you can't win them all!
  16. incidentally, if we didn't keep this awful back-up goalie, who do you guys think would have been playing net that past few games, and do you think he would have done better? hell, i don't even know who is the next goalie in the stable..
  17. absurd to blame that game on biron guys, come on....maybe he didn't steal it for them, but most back-up goalies do not steal games. they didn't play a complete game and they were playing not only a good team, but one that was desperate. time to get over that feeling we will win every game. i can't believe how banged up some people are about losing this game.. news flash -we are going to lose a few more before it's over..
  18. i'm gonna take the high road here and say that i don't have a problem with that call. i've seen a lot worse than that. williams bumping marty is not the reason it went in and marty should have done a better job deflecting that rebound to the corner... doesn't mean i agree, but you pick your fights...
  19. anyone get a look at the blonde sitting behind Lindy yet? i keep catching her quickly but not enough to form a solid opinion :bag:
  20. yes - MSG coverage again on my D-TV Center Ice fee!
  21. does anyone watching on DirecTV feel like the quality is that of a webcast?!?!
  22. don't take back the bad comments boys....they can't continue to play like this, although you are right that good teams find ways to win games, but we can not continue to do this. they have to start to pick it up... that said, please don't forget this is a long season. you they won't play like #1 every night....
  23. by the way, i've learned to tolerate andy brickey, but is the play-by-play guy Jack Edwards in disguise b/c aside from being a different voice it sounds like the exact crap that Edwards shoveled all last year...
  24. despite once again getting badly outplayed we have tied it at 4....unbelievable.....if this team ever plays a full game consistently it will be scary!
  25. you can't play all 80 games with finesse and speed. there are going to be lapses. this truly doesn't upset me. if anything, it does prove that some of the old NHL still works. the bruins worked their off for every loose puck tonight and used the body every chance they had. let it be a lesson to us, and i think many of - even during this win streak - worried if we were short in the muscle department...
