  1. I know. It doesn't make much sense that they didn't mention the hit to the head in their explanation. Thats why I threw it out there. To see what people thought of that. I wasn't arguing either way. Maybe they're getting concerned with these class action lawsuits that are cropping up. Who knows ? Seems strange to me. From their track record of dealing with these hits I doubt its from concern for the injured player.

This made me laugh. I don't know how much he even has a say in these matters, but I truly believe that Bettman sees players as just grist for the mill.

  2. I may be wrong but I have heard that the league made no mention of the head or the hit to the head in their explanation of the suspension and the reasons for the suspension. Apparently there was enough to suspend regardless of the headshot ?

Yeah, um,… k. So,… um, would the league have suspended him for the same hit if there was no headshot and play continued? I really doubt it. The league can say whatever they want.

  3. He didn't even have the puck. That alone makes it interference.

He stopped the puck on the boards, thought he had it, went to skate and was hit less than a 1/4 of a second later. That is not interference. After watching it a few more times it was definitely a hit to the head, but I want my players to make that hit every time (sans headshot).

  4. I finally watch the Seabrook hit. Is that really what all the fuss is about? It looked like a pretty good hit in an area "where you know you can get hit" (as they say). I don't think he will get that many games (if any) and everyone will be upset that the league doesn't care about headshots, blah, blah, blah.

  5. I never liked the diving, but I sure as hell never had a problem with him as a player here. Nearly a PPG guy. His antics--whether in the dressing room or on Chippewa--revealed him as immature. He couldn't "grow up" here, and that was troublesome. But he put it out on the ice.

I have never cared if someone was"immature" off the ice. I actually like knowing that some people enjoy life. And he definitely cured his diving problem.

  6. I like Roy. Always have. And I don't care that a bunch of people who are afraid that they themselves are gay make fun of him for someone holding a sausage against his crotch. He has taken what he has been given talent-wise as far as he possibly can. Can't ask more than that from someone.

  7. I have been meaning to ask...and I mean this 100% seriously...

Did ANYBODY truthfully believe the Buffalo Sabres would be anywhere near even a decent team this season?

As I said on the radio the other day...this has been one of the best years of sports I have witnessed, because the stress was gone. I did not expect the Bills or the Sabres to be any good. I understood they're re-building and I know what comes with that. I expected the Bills to struggle with new coaches, players and schemes...but they ended up surprising me a little bit. Better than I thought.

Same with the Sabres...I had zero belief in Ron Rolston as an NHL Head Coach, and I knew there would be a lot of rookies starting the year with the big club. I figured by Christmas they would be so behind, an 8th place chase like usual was extremely far-fetched, and I absolutely expected them to be drafting in the top-3 positions. Now, going into this season...there are really zero expectations like I had with the Bills last year. If they surprise me, so be it...but I am 100% prepared for another uninteresting season. (and to me, getting elite players through the draft is worth it.)

The only reason I am alright with all of this...I believe 100% that it works and will absolutely pay off in the future. I truthfully believe that our best times as Buffalo sports fans are in the not-too-distant future. Give it 3 years and we have 2 very good teams...dare I say, "contenders?"

Like I keep saying to skeptics...do you want a fun and exciting team, with young kids who can grow together and become possibly one of the best teams we have seen here...or do you want to continue chasing 8th place and mediocrity with a bunch of Ville Leino's?

I've had enough and I am sick of being the joke of the sports world, and I know damn well that guys like Doug Marrone and Doug Whaley, as well as Ted Nolan and Tim Murray, do NOT want to be the laughingstock of their profession...they won't let that happen to them. They are young and prideful and all want to make a name for themselves within their profession as some of the best at what they do.

So, "fans" I challenge you, get behind them fully and support them 100% and see this thing through...we really have no other option.

However bad you thought this season was going to be, it was worse.

A guy who's number hangs the the friggin rafters quit on the team. It doesn't get worse than that.

  8. So anyone else ready for this Boston-Red Wings game?

Absolutely! The wife's out, the kid will be in bed. F'N Fantastic.

That God NBC was smart enough to give Mike Milbury and his Boston bias the night off. I wonder if they would have if it was any other team than Detroit.

  9. For football I was 88, but was never really married to it. I didn't like it for hockey, though, so I've been 44 because I figured it was half of 88 and Alexi Zhitnik wore it.

I don't really dislike any numbers, just certain players that have numbers.
