I'm guessing that they would have different results in an actual china shop with a hard slippery tile floor.
Still pretty cool, though.

So you work in NYC?
No. Not sure if this has any relevance, but when I did, I took public transportation.
-
Making commutes tougher is a good thing on principle?
[dirty hippie hat]
Yes. Live where you work. If that area sucks. Make it better. Don't just use it up and move farther out. I live ten minutes (by car) from the GWB. When I tell people that I often ride my bike to work, they look at me like I like I'm nuts.

I wasn't able to watch the game last night, but once I read it, I just knew that Bonino was involved. It's not the first time for him:
(Skip up to the 3 minute mark)
I don't know when that was, but the Sabres beat the Bruins 6-1 that night.
-
Well, that's the exception rather than the rule for Chicago. Thuggery happens every period with the Bruins - someone on this forum wrote that Lucic and Marchand are some of the worst people in the world - and I find it hard to disagree with that.
I'll take both on the Sabres, please.
-
I think it's funny that everyone slams the way the Bruins play, all the while lauding the fact that Chicago wins the "right" way. Then, the turning point in this series was a brutal, borderline hit by Chicago on one of the Blues best players.
-
The Bruins were a much better team than Detroit. I'm surprised the Wings even won one game. They chased the play an awful lot and played with one hand on the stick more than I have seen for some time.
I still hate the Bruins and want to see Lucic have to drink his dinner through a straw, but they really are a good team.
-
Well yeah, that would cost us our first round pick.
nice

love him
its a wheel state and a an agriculture state...they are leaning towards a cattle state right now
way too funny
That was funny. Like I said, when he calls the game, he's okay. Game 47 on a Sunday afternoon,… unlistenable.

I like the Skyway. I'm over hating it.
I hate the 190 more (i know I said "the"). Hey, let's separate the city from it's own waterfront.

It's nice to hear Doc actually call a game, and not babble on about some player's pee wee coach's sister who runs a hockey camp for girls who…
Still can't stand him, though.

That was some horrible D by Nyquist.

It's almost April 30th and all the days seem the same ... didn't realize that it's Thursday.
My wife, who has chronic health issues that are quite bad, may have had a small (?) stroke. Trying to even speak with her Neurologist is a nightmare.
On top of all that, it's freezing rain here in Halifax.
Don't know how I missed this. Good luck.

I don't use caffeine at all.
Melatonin then. It rocks.
-
Haven't had more than 4 hrs of sleep since Saturday. I need to find a way to get to sleep early tonight and stay asleep until the alarm goes off. Both have been challenges lately.
No caffeine after noon and melatonin before bed. SwampDr's orders.

I have a bunch, mostly petty...
-I hate when your nails are too long to not be annoying, but not quite long enough to cut.
-Why are news sites so GD clunky and take forever to load. They make me want to stay uninformed.
-The term phablet.
-Got a call from the school nurse this morning tell ing us that our 6 month streak has ended. Always a day killer, then go to work only to find out that it's "take your kid to work day." Grrr. Gotta remember to take this off next year.

The negativity in the sports media here shouldn't be that surprising. There hasn't been a whole heckuva lot to be optimistic about in the last decade in terms of Buffalo teams, IMHO. The Bills haven't even appeared in a playoff game in this CENTURY MILLENNIUM, for pity's sake. And the Sabres have been in a downward spiral for a number of years - and the Sabres this year posted one of the worst records, and worst stats, in the modern hockey era.
Not exactly "jump for joy and click your heels together" stuff. Buffalo is a perfect environment for Eeyore types.
fixed
He's been right sometimes, sure. Doesn't make him objective. He's also had his share of being hilariously wrong. See: he once wrote a column where he said Tedy Bruschi should be in the HoF.
Yeah. I'm just sour cuz I'm tired of watching other teams in the playoffs. I'm left trying to figure out what to do with myself to have a life of my own instead of living vicariously through people I don't even know every April. It sucks.
-
Sullivan does a good job being provocative. But objective? He's about as objective as Kevin Sylvester, only in the opposite direction.
Wouldn't that mean that he's been right?
-
I don't take it as a personal attack on my soul, but the pessimism of Esmonde, Watson, and Sullivan--especially Esmonde--makes their columns not worth my time.
Buffalo sports for the last decade hasn't been worth my time.

I know. It doesn't make much sense that they didn't mention the hit to the head in their explanation. Thats why I threw it out there. To see what people thought of that. I wasn't arguing either way. Maybe they're getting concerned with these class action lawsuits that are cropping up. Who knows ? Seems strange to me. From their track record of dealing with these hits I doubt its from concern for the injured player.
This made me laugh. I don't know how much he even has a say in these matters, but I truly believe that Bettman sees players as just grist for the mill.
-
I thought this thread had to do with Elmira.
I have never understood the hate directed at any of the Buffalo sports media. If you can't listen to the radio or read an article without taking it as a personal attack on your soul, you need to realign your chakras.
-
Only Kronwall on Detroit could have gotten away with that trip on that Marchand breakaway.
-
I may be wrong but I have heard that the league made no mention of the head or the hit to the head in their explanation of the suspension and the reasons for the suspension. Apparently there was enough to suspend regardless of the headshot ?
Yeah, um,… k. So,… um, would the league have suspended him for the same hit if there was no headshot and play continued? I really doubt it. The league can say whatever they want.

I know we're getting OT here, but I don't have a problem with individuals driving to work, just the distances that they travel. As SS Sandy showed us, there is something inherently wrong with an economy based on most people having only a three day supply of gasoline in order to get to work.
