  1. Have you ever been hit on the big bone in your wrist by a metal stick before? I have as I played goalie my whole life. It ###### hurts and it hurts bad for at least five minutes. There was no embellishment and who are you to say he was overreacting? Until you've actually been there then it's best to not comment. Stones playoffs are probably over because of a two handed baseball swing to a basically bare wrist that broke a bone. You guys that assume everything, but have never actually been there are ridiculous. I love PK, but that was a punk move.

Shrader and I both play. We both know how to embellish (I'm assuming Shrader does). It may have hurt him, but Stone embellished.

And I'll believe his playoffs are over when he's not on the ice for the next game. The way that coach was talking after the game shows me he's not against some gamesmanship.

  2. Not even close. Stewart along with Ennis and even Kane are nowhere near Lucic as an impact player.

I know Lucic ran over Miller and the hearts of the fans, to say he would be about the same as Stewart or Ennis is better, come on. Put the hurt feelings aside. First Ennis and now Stewart? If people didn't want to have a serious conversation than just lock the thread, this is going beyond silly.

As far as O'Reilly, not many players with any talent wouldn't come in and lead the Sabres. They just lost 120 game sin two years, it shouldn't be hard to lead in any category. If the conversation was just about O'Reilly? Sure I'd say make he deal. Either/Or with Lucic, your talking two players on far different levels with O'Reilly having a lot of catching up to do.

    Fantastic typo.

  3. I am a "righty" through and through. I'm not what any normal person who knows anything about politics would call a "far-righty," however.

As for your second point, well, the Perpetual Outrage Brigade said it shall be done, and so it was. Thanks for proving my points.

So, that's like you're thing, huh?

    k

  4. Ya only a far-right winger would say those things.

Harry Reid is loved and revered by everyone else.

Dude, you're a righty. Just own it. It's okay. It's a free country (I think).

Still not sure why that means a post about hockey needed to be taken down...

  5. Wait what?  What does Subban being black have to do with anything? I missed something didn't I?

I don't think it has anything to do with anything, and I think Swamp was kidding.

He's still my biggest "wish he were a Sabre" even though I want him suspended for this, FWIW.

Not completely kidding. I absolutely believe that him being black effects how people view what he does on the ice. I unfortunately have an entire text chain on my phone about the incident from all the guys on my hockey team. Good guys that all have some level of bias that I wish they didn't have.

Look at it this way, think of all the stuff Chara has done that he never got suspended for, or even a penalty in some cases. Do you think that would have been the case if he was black? I don't. Not a big deal, just sayin'.

  6. The difference between Chara and Subban is that Chara is more subtle in his abuse. He knows just how hard to thump guys so that it hurts them but not badly. Subban doesn't know how to do that.

Don't forget, Chara also has the advantage of being white.

Maybe embellish isn't the right word, but there is definitely a "hey look at me" factor that is grilled into people at this point when they get hurt. Just because you do actually get hurt doesn't mean you don't try to sell it as well. That reaction looked a bit too big to me.

    Yep.
  7. I'm not sure if Schopp agreeing with me is good or bad, but he's damn right on this one..just say no to the Canes!  Also he makes a good argument against NJ...McDavid playing the trap?

    http://www.wgr550.com/If-Sabres-don-t-win-lottery-here-s-who-should/21363434

I've actually been a fan of Schopp, but I have been liking him less and less. He does realize the the Devil's haven't played the trap in like a decade, right?
  8. And I'm the creep and the weirdo, lol.

I'm glad it's here for you to read. Maybe people will see that inciting the Perpetual Outrage Brigade, while predictable, was probably unwarranted given the content.

But again, thanks for proving my points.

I liked it. I don't know if you are a creep or a weirdo, and don't really care. I would assume that since you are on SS, like the rest of us, you are both. I saw nothing in there that should have caused it to be removed.

I will say that while I only half agree with your position (I don't find anything morally wrong with a tank, I just didn't want to waste 3 years my viewership doing it), I have found the coverage by WGR and the tank fanbois calling in to the station to be creepy and weird. I mean it. There has been a Stepford Wives quality to them all.

Thankfully, this will all be over soon.

And I have no problem cheering for McDavid or Eichel.

  9. I cut the cord last month.  I hadn't turned on a television in my house in about a year.

Play them together... we used to Wii bowl and golf, and I know my sis and her husband played a lot of Guitar Hero together (until the kids came about--now kids, I think they kill video games until they're of age to play themselves).

    I'm jealous.

  10. Not if he's smart.

Here's my bitch for the day:  NHL Center Ice blackout.  Dummies, you could have had my business.  I'd watch on all my devices.  But you won't let me watch my favorite team because you black it out.  So now my business goes to a semi-legitimate site that has every game, no blackouts, all devices, AND the CHL.

    NHL/MSG you got greedy...

I was never hard into gaming, but when Civ V came out, I think it was like $45ish?  That's really the only game I buy, the rest is stuff for Wii ($40ish) and apps ($3ish).

I'm confused by this. Isn't every game of the playoffs shown by the networks of NBC? If you also have cable, I'm pretty sure you can log on to NBC.com and stream all the games once you select your provider.

  11. The lack of reaction from the News to the success of the tank has been interesting.

The goal of the tank is to win a SC, not to just get the 1st or 2nd pick. We won't know if it was a success for many years.

My take away is the same as it has been since the beginning of the year when I said this was going to be awful, and not because of the terrible hockey, but because of this one thing; no matter what some people think, everyone "gets it". To hear either side say over and over that the other side just "doesn't get it" was tiresome. Everyone "got it", they just disagree with "it".

  12. How is it that an iPhone can tell you to take a different way to go to work because it has learned your travel patterns and knows there is traffic on your route all without you telling (asking?) it to, but my iPad can't learn that I am NEVER GOING TO SIGN INTO iCLOUD OR GAMECENTER!!!!

The glottal stop. I know it's been trendy for a while now, but it has to go. Songwriters don't have to come up with new or clever ways to say something that will fit the melody. They can just say the way it has been said a million times before and just use a glottal stop to get it to fit their melody.

Lastly, I was eating my sandwich today,… delicious,… getting down to end,… where just the right ratios of meat to bread to cheese to lettuce to mayo/mustard culminate in that last magical bite that make eating the whole rest of the sandwich worth it,… and as I raise it to my lips,… I miscalculate ever so slightly where my mouth is, it hits my lip, the meat slides out from between the bread, I lose my grip on the entire thing and it tumbles to the floor,…

    I ate it anyway.

  13. Subban's intent to injure was pretty clear. No idea what you're talking about.

He definitely meant to slash him and that's a penalty, 2 min. There's just something about the way Stone made it look like he got shot, glancing at the ref to make sure he saw him looking like he got shot, that doesn't sit well with me. Almost like he knew if he acted really injured (he wasn't, he went to the tunnel to make it look good and then played his next shift) it would get PK thrown out.
