So much this. Jack Eichel is playing pickup hockey right now, before his surgery.
Both surgeries being contemplated have a 90 per cent success rate.
Is it possible this could affect his play moving forward? Sure, just like Jake McCabe's knee could affect him in the future, and Marco Rossi's COVID bout and Alex Tuch's shoulder and Linus Ullmark's injury-of-the-month. Didn't stop McCabe and Ullmark from getting long-term contracts, or Rossi and Tuch from being trade targets.
Absolutely no one in the NHL is saying Jack's is a career-threatening injury, only panicky internet posters and wannabe message board GMs.
Internet posters (mostly from the Northeast meaning Boston NY etc) who's ammo is to talk down a player in hope that their team sharks that player for 30 cents on the dollar, and those internet posters will be the first ones after the deal to pump out their chest and brag how they 'stole' that player.

Krebs, Tuch, #1 in 2022 and #1 in 2023 even if Sabres need to send back a 3rd ship this deal and lets move forward.

Hell no it doesn't
Wys is a lifelong Devils fan who is still bitter all these years about Hasek winning Venizas over Brodeur. I never listen to his commentary on our team for that reason alone.

You are about as far away from NYC as you can get and still be on the mainland.
So, I suggest that either you get yourself to the big *5 O*, or just ignore them.

Born and raised in the NYC Metro area so I am well versed on the tactics of the NY fan and these comments that Rangers fans make over and over again is the classic NY way: Talk down a player to drive down value and they boast how they stole that player from the other team later on. Been hearing it for decades LOL

Don't know about all of you, but I have absolutely had it with the likes of Larry Brooks in the NY Post, where you can just feel the bitterness and rage jumping out of his articles and tweets about Eichel. Also so many unreasonable Rangers fans and their constant 'oh we don't want Eichel' and their low-ball offers but yet they seem so infinitely interested in the doings of EIchel.
Tired of the Ranger fans and their constant lies. We see right through your charade and the typical 'Ill talk down a player I really want in my secret hopes of sharking that player from that organization'. The act is annoying and tiresome. Go Away.

Give me Rossi, Dumba and a 2022 unprotected 1.
Replace Boldy with another solid prospect and I am ok with this.
Look to keep Dumba long term as a RHD.

Owen Power was the safe pick.
Personally I think these Victor Hedman comparisons are borderline insane, Hedman's come along very rarely in our lifetimes.
Power has a good chance to be a 'pretty good' NHL defenseman.
'Pretty Good' doesn't cut it for me at 1OV.
IMO Eklund has a chance to be great. That was the pick for me and stand by it.
I hope to be dead wrong on Power but we will see.

I worked with Brooks when I interned with the NJ Devils in 1996 and even then he was a bitter and salty SOB.
Can't imagine much has changed. He wants Eichel for 60 cents on the dollar, like most Rangers fans.

Ok, you lost Borgen. He might have been a very good 3rd pair guy, or a decent 2nd pair guy. Now go out and get someone as good as or better to replace him. If you are going to trade Jack, Sam, and Risto, you should get a lot back. A young D-man who is just as good as Borgen as part of that package shouldn't be too tall of an ask.
This is true, and this is still better then giving up a future pick and asking Seattle to take Okposo or Miller. Maybe there is hope for this new regime.

So just to recap, Borgen is NOT official yet?

With all the Defenders taken, Borgen seems highly unlikely as the pick.Â
It is really odd to me that Buffalo of all teams hasn't had their pick leaked.Â
Remember when Adams talked about not letting information leak out, this is a good stress test to back up what he said.

Cue the meltdowns in 3.............2...............1.................

No Subban, I stand to be corrected!

One less spot for Borgen?

Nobody wants PK Subban lol
They would. Subban great for the community, popular player and Seattle can get something from NJ in a side deal.
-
Seattle IMO swings a deal with NJ and gets PK Subban (9M AAV but only 2M in real $) makes sense for a lot of reasons.

If the Sabres get Turcotte and the 8th overall for Sam Reinhart, Ill do a rain dance here in Southern California and it WILL rain

Still think Adams omitting Eichel as part of the young core is a tell, but we shall see.
Eichel will be traded by the 23rd IMO.

Rask needs hip surgery and will miss at least half the season.

It was reported that Rask will play for no other team than Boston, even if that isn't true i pass on Rask.

Pick #1: D Owen Power (University of Michigan)
in The Aud Club
Posted
Let Power go to college, it will take years before anyone sees any payoff from that pick (if we ever do TBH) so don't waste the year
