Yeah there is excitement in the air for the young players, but this ownership and organization has a LONG way to go to get my trust back after the Eichel debacle and so many other missteps. Are things looking up? Sure. But this is the easy part. It couldn't get any worse. Let's see in 2-3 years if they can build a true winner.

I think the Tuch hype that we are seeing is a result of a fan base like ours absolutely starving for anyone to believe in. Plus Tuch being a WNY guy does prop him up a bit, I understand why that happens but also it inflates his impact a bit.
Krebs is the player that we REALLY should be waiting for, he is the key to the Eichel trade and that will not change.

As far as judging KA and his eye for talent, it starts for me with Jack Quinn. Then Owen Power. And now, haven't the Sabres hired some hot shot analytics people and will be lean on them to make the ultimate decisions?

I think we just need to all come to the cold harsh realization that many scouts missed on Dahlin and we will be fortunate if Rasmus becomes a 45-50 point defenseman and good on the PP that is at least adequate defensively at his peak.

Was thinking maybe there was a goalie out there that a team would like to move for salary cap relief that has say a year left that the Sabres can get for a very cheap price, but even looking at that, there isn't much if anything out there that KA can pursue.

The tank for McDavid/Eichel was absolutely the best move.
The steps AFTER the tank is what gave the perception that the tank was wrong.

Just a question in general, is the defensive issue more of a talent issue over a system issue? Meaning if the Sabres go FA and get a defenseman or two and Power arrives will we see significant improvements or is this a Granato thing?
