Kassian showing Hockey IQ by jumping onto the bench to avoid a too many men on the ice penalty, The St, Louis Blues Bench
I liked the statement from him at the end of the game though. Apparently he and Backes have a thing going.

Jeebus, there's 500+ comments on that article.
Yeah I noticed that too. Impressive. OT, but they are very good at marketing, written up in a trade pub this week. Stanley gets an assist there though.

Good write-up on McNabb from Kings website

Must lose game.
Oh, and we can't score any goals either.
More suckiness, this time from the Sabres site:
Although the team has been shut out in back-to-back games, Nolan has decided to let these combinations continue to work through it. Buffalo has never been shut out in three-straight games.

Shocker stat from Schopp twitter this AM:
1 regulation win in last 26.
Wow. Just wow.
And I think it's only 3 wins of 26 counting OT/SO.
Suffering.

Lindy's having his way with Miller tonight.
And now it's Lack's turn. Oof.
-
I haven't been able to keep up with the overall Zad's scenario, can someone let me know exactly why Nolan won't play him?
I've only seen him play a couple of times but he mostly impressed me as a little slow and struggling to consistently get into position in battles behind the net and in corners. He didn't look ready like Risto does.

Yup,
Nolan=boob
The GDT during the shootout was amazing during the SO.
Yup, take a bow Sizzle, I'm still laughing this morning.
-
Samson please.

We've seen the same product for 3 years running. The pieces have changed, but the results look nearly identical. That's not effort, that's what a severe talent deficiency looks like.
Agreed. I saw plenty of try-hard during Rolston's run. They lost big to Chicago and Anaheim, two cup favorites, no shocker. Yeah, ok, it was uglier than expected, but what is most shocking is Nolan going nuclear with his comments after game 3 of 82. Good luck to Gionta. He looks weak on the ice, but I think he's gonna earn his cash dealing with the locker room & TN this year.

Briere lifts Colorodo with less than a second over Bruins.
Colorodo avoids Carrion League berth.
A total of 4 goals in 4 games for the mighty Bruins, 1 - 3.

My happy haze of new-season fan hope is clearing quickly with last night's showing and polls like this. Oooff.
Hodgson for points.
Moulson for goals.
-
Let's go Columbus! Hoping Johansen plays, otherwise it's their AHL squad.
From CBJ site (weds lines)
Hartnell-Anisimov-Dano
Foligno-Johansen-Atkinson
Calvert-Letestu-Wennberg
Skille-Chaput-Boll/Tropp
Johnson-Savard
Erixon-Wisniewski
Tyutin-Prout
Bobrovsky
Good to see my man Tropp'r hanging on. Break-out year coming, just needs the ice time. :P

The post to which he responded implied Gionta lacked a local connection.
I must not have constructed that sentence well then.
-
Feels much better than Craig Rivet. I was pulling for Callahan over Gionta for the warm fuzzy local connection / insta-C. Now that the season is here, I think they got it right.
-
Yeah its kinda like wanting a finger in the butt vs knob gobbler.
Oh the child. I think about the child. His life only just begun. The innocence and promise of a new born babe.
He's gonna have some good times w/ 'ol Pops!

1 goal in two games is shaky??
We were also playing the Caps AHL team so don't get too giddy, but Buffalo looked awesome tonight. I could get used to that.
True on Enroth stats wise but he didn't look great to me. He got a couple of breaks. Razor was on him in the telecast. That nice save he had w/ the guy all alone in front (in the 2nd?) it looked like he even stumbled before he made it. Hydration issues?
Noticed I didn't notice 28 as well. Hopefully it is maturity. Would be nice to see some offensive created by him tho....I know, he's not a 25 goal scorer, but maybe 15? Flashback to Foligno's sophomore slump that hopefully he's finally done with.
Can't wait for the season to start.

This looks like a good team. Finally the reset (gm, coaches, core) we've wanted for a while.
Playoffs this year!
Will re-evaluate after 20 games.
-
Whoa. The guy has played 1 NHL preseason game at a level higher than that of "corpse." He hasn't proven, or earned, anything, especially as regards being a good 2-way player.
And Griggy didn't get sent back to juniors for being physically immature. He got sent back because he was completely useless in an NHL game.
Everyone's got to earn it. If he does -- great. But he hasn't come close to doing so yet.
It's good enough for me. Receiving that pass from Hodgson and what appeared to be effortlessly burying it required talent very few have. And we desperately need scoring. He got the message. Put him on the roster. The minute he stops working hard, send to ROC.

Doh, found it on MSGHD, 318

Not on TWC Rochester either.
The guide has it listed too. Showing Bruins v Flyers winter classic.
TWC sucks - moved 2 good channels to paid tier sport package this week too (universal and espnc)

But comparing Pysyk to Patrick is like comparing a Honda Accord to a BMW 550.
Accord w/ V6 vs 528i. ;)
-
I think you are under estimating Pysyk. Like Shrader said, the league is different now but he will be a solid 3/4 and once there is some offensive talent upfront, his assist numbers will sky rocket. He has the ability to be one of the finest passing defenseman in the league.
That's how I see it too. Love his breakout passes. Maybe since goals are so often grind-it-out vs run-n-gun his assist #s won't be that good, but here's hoping.
Good call on speed disparity Freeman. I was thinking more passing, not physical, solid all-around, smart.
-
James Patrick.
I'm bullish on him too.

I just noticed the world series is only 9 days long if 7 games. Is it always that short? NHL would turn that into at least 10, but probably 14 days. Interesting.
