I think Pommer signing should be immediate grounds for locking the Complaint Thursdays thread!

Pens won!

Going to a shootout in Pittsburgh.
Cool side note: TWSN is showing the Colgate vs Cornell (my alma mater) hockey game right now.

Pretty good night for the Sabres. They got two points, NJ one and Atlanta and Montreal got zero.
???
NJ got 2, winning in OT.
Montreal just tied it up 4-4 in the third.
Edit: going to OT in Pittsburgh, so Montreal gets at least 1.
Crosschecking, Niittymaki was in goal for the Flyers.

Now I really hate the Flyers

Couldn't hold on for 32 more seconds ...

Flyers back up 5-4!

What are we supposed to comment on - that despite the fact that their effort is spotty at best, they've gotten two big breaks and now lead? A Gaustad pick and a puck that bounces in off the defenseman's skate...
Yes. Thanks.

Still no comments on the fact that we tied it up?
I'm "watching" it on my laptop, waiting for some thoughts on Drury's goal, but you'd never know he even did it here.

Briere, Campbell and Staal 2 for 3 (best group)
Miller stops all 3!
Not bad Buffalo!
-
Danny, not so good on the shootout.
They said that he never got the puck to sit down for him.

Did the skills comp start yet? My girlfriend is watching Idol and I don't get the remote back until she goes to bed at 9:00.

Anyone else know exactly who was going to score that goal before they even crossed the Montreal blue line? You could just see that he had a two stride lead on the far side. I said uh-oh long before the puck was in the net. Too bad, 'cause it was a great game. Glad to see the Sabres getting battling back again. Hope they take that aspect out of this game and don't focus on the loss.

The good new is that our slump (6-4-0 in the last 10) has not been as bad as many teams' atop the East:
Rangers (5-5-0)
Islanders (3-6-1)
Montreal (4-6-0)
Toronto (5-4-1)
Atlanta (4-4-2)
Carolina (5-4-1)
Note for those who care: Anaheim is 3-5-2
The bad news is that it has been much worse than a couple of top teams' in the East:
New Jersey (8-1-1)
Ottawa (8-1-1)
Again, for those who care: Nashville is 8-2-0
Two straight against the Bruins should be a good opportunity to get back on track. Let's hope they take advantage of it.

I can believe it went in, but what I can't believe is that they didn't spend much time reviewing it.... and the camera angles I saw sure didn't show it going in.
MSG just didn't have the right shot during the game. In the overhead shot that they showed in the post-game show, it was very clear. You could watch the puck go all the way to the back of the net and get pulled back out. If the people upstairs had that shot, then I am not surprised that it only took ten seconds to review.

Who did Nichol hit? I'm not able to watch it.
Spacek. Cheap shot in the jaw from behind with gloves dropped (his, not Spacek's).
(Ha! Third reply. Oops)

Holy cheap shot!

Really, you can just say "Sabres and Bills" and be done with it. What more can be said about them than what has already been said? It's not like we waited for this thread to complain about them.
I would like to complain about the person who created this year's schedule, specifically as it pertains to the Rangers. No single team should have played 4-5 more games than every other team. They started with two games against the Lightning a week before the season started for everyone else, but Tampa somehow has the same number of games played as we do. They should have had a relatively lighter schedule after that for the first couple of months to get everyone back to being about equal (no more than 2 games played between the top and the bottom.) The Rangers will gloat about having been in first for the whole season when, if fact, if you compare for the same number of GP, they have actually only been in first half the time and at 18 games played actually trail the Bruins and the Penguins. I know it doesn't mean anything, but it's damn annoying.
