Crazy stats of the day from NFL.com (bolding added by me for particularly cool stat):
QuoteNext Gen stat of the game: On Josh Allen’s 8-yard TD pass to Gabe Davis, Allen was 0.3 yards from the sideline when he threw it -- the second-closest pass to the sideline on a completion in the NGS era. Since 2016, there have been four completions with a release within one yard of the sideline; Allen has three of them.
NFL Research: Josh Allen now has four regular-season games against the Patriots with two-plus touchdown passes and zero interceptions, which is the most of any QB against the Patriots in Bill Belichick’s Patriots tenure (2000-present).

That’s exactly what I thought whilst watching the game. The helpless feeling that no matter what your team does, it won’t matter. The other team is playing a different sport. Deal with it Pats.
Yeah, when even Belichick leaves three timeouts on the board with 1:53 left down by only two scores, you know they have no answer.

Anyone know when the Bills game starts?
😁

Honestly, I just wish Lewis had batted down that 4th down pass to Jefferson instead of trying to intercept it. Even ignoring the time and score, an incomplete pass would have been better for field position. Think of how much craziness we might have avoided ...

The first thing my father-in-law said after the TD was take the safety. I'm sure he wasn't the only one.
Usually "taking the safety" involve snapping to the quarterback, who runs around the back of the end zone as long as he safely can, eating up clock, and then steps out. A bad snap can happen there, too.
The usual move with the time and score (as opposed to with a lot less time and/or up more points) is to do what they did. They still might stop you in the end zone, resulting in a safety, but if not, you win the game with the clock.
Bad exchange at the worst possible time; nothing more to it.

The OT interception might of been his worst ever. There was no need to force it in the endzone on a 2 and 10. Take the underneath stuff for 5-8 yards and stay in the game.
If I had to guess, there was a bit of being pissed at himself for the end of regulation and thinking "I'm going to win it right here!"

He had some bad games in the middle (ref: Jacksonville.)

Perspective:
They were 6-3 last year through nine, too.
Even dropped to 7-6.
At the end, they finished 11-6 and were still 13 seconds (or a coin flip) from going to hosting the AFC Championship game.

Get back on track next week. Playing the Browns. Miami on a bye. Jets-Patriots.
Josh needs to figure out what's changed in the past three games. Throwing right at defenders.
I didn't mind McDermott being aggressive, even though I wouldn't have. A pick being run way out of the end zone made it much worse than turning it over on downs really deep.

That doesn't matter buffalo wins this game without him why risk him .
Buffalo should think long term not this year
It was a joke. "Grip the ball" is a terrible standard for readiness.

Buffalo should sit him what are Y'all doning . Dont RG3 him
Well, you see, he can grip the ball, so ... all good. 😕

Josh Allen did not play like Josh Allen today.
Yep.
And that was before he seemingly hurt his elbow on that strip-fumble. His four interceptions over the last two weeks were all oddly bad, and he missed throws that he normally makes frequently. This season could derail fast if he is hurt.

Smart to rest 2022 Josh in the 2nd and bring in 2018 Josh. We'll need the 2022 version for the rest of the season.

Great second half by the Lions. 🙄

I'm not sure how anyone watches the NFL when the Bills aren't playing.
God, this sucks.
The 2nd half of that Steelers-Dolphins game was a lesson in futility. Just awful football. Steelers DBs with at least four dropped interceptions and there were more 3-and-outs than Jim at a whorehouse ...

I live 3 hours away from Birmingham, but I had no interest in going to the World Games.
I don't know much about the World Games, but I thought the high-level flag football (insert joke about where NFL is going) was pretty entertaining. There was some serious skill on display (not surprising, given borderline NFL players.) The format, in spite of the contact penalties, allowed for a lot of dual-threat players to excel.

Anyone see this (you have to watch on YouTube due to restrictions):
Men's Flag Football Championship: Italy vs. USA | 2022 World Games
Pretty cool. Fun to watch, despite it being a flag for intentionally hitting a defender. Even features a former Bills (practice squad) player, Dez Lewis.
ETA: Women's Championship Game

Anyone else hear "Levi Wallace is in concussion protocol" and think "damn, we lost another DB." 🤪

Gabe Davis had 60 yards of YAC on his first catch of the day today.
Yeah ... but on that second one, he had 0. 🤪

Perhaps this can clear up any confusion as to the incompetency of the Dolphins when he sustained his injury against the Bills. Full stop: once gross motor instability was observed, Tua should not have been allowed to return period. This idea that his gross motor instability was caused by orthopedic reasons vs neurological reasons is total crap. Back injury my ass.

Well, it does qualify that with:

Kinda crazy, though:
QuoteThe 2018 first-round pick (Allen) now has 147 career offensive touchdowns, tied with Peyton Manning for the fourth-most in a player's first five seasons in NFL history. Allen needs 25 touchdowns in his final 13 games of 2022 to break Hall of Famer Dan Marino's NFL record of 171. He would also pass Cam Newton (160) and Patrick Mahomes (159) on that list should he do so.
He has 13 games to score 13 touchdowns (passing or rushing) to pass Mahomes, 14 to pass Newton and 25 to pass Marino. He has averaged ~ 2 2/3 TDs (99 TDs in 27 GP) over the last 2 1/4 seasons, which works out to ~34 more TD's. Lot of things (we don't talk about Bruno, no, no) can happen in a season, but it's definitely attainable.

I think Josh Allen is the best overall player in the NFL. Yup.
Every generation has its "best" debate. For a long time, we had Brady vs. Manning. Rarely can they be objectively stated with certainty. This generation is no different. I can't watch Mahomes play and think that we can objectively say Josh is "the best" with certainty. He is definitely in that discussion, though, and likely will be for the rest of his career. That's all that matters to me. He's our quarterback and he's awesome (most of the time.)
