And there’s a red lined up right on that line of scrimmage on both sides of the field. They can’t possibly miss a call like that (unless they get a text from their gambling overlords😁).

Yeah, the tip of the ball is literally on the right hash mark, and Toney's foot is lined up two feet to the left of - but definitely not behind - the left hash mark.  How he didn't realize that he was that far forward, I can't imagine.

  2. I get Mahomes' frustration at the end of the game.  A very rare penalty likely cost them the game.  But hadn't he or Andy seen a replay before they got to podium?  Didn't he think, "damn, I didn't realize that he was that offsides!"

The neutral zone is 11" or so, and his foot and helmet were in line with the Bills' end of the ball.  He's further down field than his center!

My point is that in Canada it does not matter if she changes her mind after the fact.  If there is sufficient evidence there will be charges brought even if the victim changes their story.

I believe that charges could still be brought if there is sufficient evidence of assault (bruises on her neck, any other eyewitnesses/video, etc.)  However, with her recanting, exactly what happened here would happen it court.  When there's two possible conflicting explanations, that's the definition of reasonable doubt, which favors the defense.

Sean McDermott won't win anything. He's a scared conservative minded coach who doesn't have the mind or instinct to win. He plays not to lose too quickly and loses constantly.

Fixed.  He tries not to be beat on one play, but gives up big chunks over and over.

  5. Interception opportunities, especially those that have a chance of being returned, being what they are, I could see DaRond Bland setting the career pick-6 record (currently 12) or never having another one in his career.  Still, his single-season record (5) in just 11 games is very impressive, especially for an elevated nickelback.

The problem is cap space. The Bills only have 2.5M & Surtain’s salary is about 5M.

Never gotten into how the NFL cap works, but do they not get any relief for three players going out for the season?  If not, the system is messed up.

  7. My thoughts:

    1) Please, please, please don't let Milano's injury be season-ending.

    2) Offense took way too long to get over their jetlag.

    3) Depleted D got worked, but Epenesa and a few others took the ball away enough to keep it close.

    4) Ref's help or not, still waaaaay too many penalties.

    5) That 2-point conversion went from looking like a walk-in to being shot down fast.  Too soft of a throw and nothing doing after the catch.

    6) What was Gabe Davis doing on that onside kick?  It looked like he was in the best spot to make a play, but wasn't watching the ball at all (flew by low and facing backwards.)

    7) Ugh, that last play ...

Down 28  - 4 scores with less than 8 minutes.  They know the odds.  It’s why Hill was on the sideline.

That's what it was when I wrote it, but they started well before that.  If I remember, they were down 21 with over 10 minutes left, had three straight plays with big pickups, but never hurried up.

Did realize Kincaid career is over with.

I thought our fan base overreacts you guys take the cake

First, I didn't say Kincaid was bad or a bust - I'm sure that he'll be very good (possibly great) - just that moving up for him doesn't look so good when you have LaPorta taken seven spots after their original pick.  They could be equally good, but 27+130 wouldn't be as good of a value as just 34.  Second, it was a small-sample, offhand comment, not a definitive statement - "making a case ... "  In four games, yeah, LaPorta has looked great:

    LaPorta - in 4 GP: 22 rec for 242 yds (avg. 11/rec) and a long of 45

    Kincaid - in 3 GP: 11 rec for 72 yds (avg. 6.6/rec) and a long of 14

Usage is definitely a big part of it.  I hope that Dalton is given a chance to show what he can do.

They played a mediocre qb for the 2nd 3rd week in a row so that helped.

    Fixed that for you.

One bad sack on Tua and next week could be a 4th.

Not wishing/hoping for anyone to get hurt, but that will be the Fins' Achilles heel all season.

Yes it's only week 1 but the Bills biggest opponent is themselves. They failed to make adjustments.

I feel like they did make adjustments against the run on defense.

The defense played well and got a little better.  Quite simply, they (just barely) lost because the offense (Josh, in particular) had four turnovers, which got successively worse:

    1) INT 1 - Jets would have likely had better field position if Whitehead had knocked that passed down forcing 4th down.  It was like a 3-and-out with a great punt.  Shouldn't have hurt much, but they gave up an 83-yard run on the first play.

    2) INT 2 - Almost the same, but came on 2nd and 13 in (long) field goal range, and was a touchback, so it was like they had stalled, maybe with a sack, and had a poor punt.

    3) INT 3 - 3rd and 2 from their own 41, poor pass into double coverage, gave the Jets good field position.

    4) Fumble - 1st and 10 from their own 25 with the ability to run down the clock on a successful game-winning drive, Allen mishandles the snap and then does the risky thing instead of making the safe play.  Gives the Jets the ball with really short field and, at worst, a go-ahead field goal.

Josh took chances that he didn't need to, especially after Rogers went down.

Even given that, they still had the ball in OT ...  then took a false start penalty, dropped a 14-yard pass, ran a 2-yard draw and then didn't covert a 13-yard reception (with a little bit of a hold.)

  12. I see no good reason not to wear one.  Add to the list of things already mentioned that it can let you maintain some level of control over your vehicle in an accident.  It doesn't matter how good of a driver the driver of your vehicle is, there are plenty of terrible drivers out there to hit your vehicle.  I can tell you that when hit, being held in the driver seat can be the difference between just missing a third vehicle or slamming into it.

I'd love to start a similar thread about headlights.  Mine are on, not just DTRLs, all of the time.  And it's not just so I can see, but also because it can help others see me, especially when it's gray and rainy.  This is why most DTRLs are silly, since they have nothing on in the back.  I digress ...

I can't answer your question about sites that grade the draft experts. I just don't know. However, prior to the draft I heard on a couple of shows the claim that maybe 40% or less of the first round drafted qbs work out. It's a tough and humbling job to evaluate players at all positions, but especially for the qb position it is much tougher task.

And what percentage of first-round QBs are drafted into bad situation, taken too high because "we have to have a quarterback" or both?  Bad teams tend to pick earlier.  Some may be bad just because they're missing a good quarterback, but many are where they belong because of how they're run.  A (potentially) good QB can be ruined by a bad situation.
