I agree that the fans were more involved with responding to Jack than they were to the game. And I consider that to be sad state of affairs. As I said before I was ecstatic about the win rather than some post game comments from a player who stated what he felt. The fans are entitled to express their feelings; and the player is entitled to do the same.

My biggest issue with Jack's statement was the "only took seven years" part, which is patently false.  I haven't been to a lot of games over those seven years, and none over the last two, but at the ones that I did go to, the fans were very engaged.  I was at the 10th game in "the streak" (against the Sharks), and it was crazy loud the whole game.  In fact, the only issue was that the really loud "1, 2, 3, ..., 9, 10 ... WE WANT 11!" chants came too early in the 3rd before the Sabres blew the lead.  Fortunately, the pulled it out in overtime.  If Jack had said that he hadn't heard it that loud in years, or something like that, it wouldn't have been a big deal.  As you said, a poorly run team has caused an undeniable decline ... consistent losing will drain the most ravenous fan base.  Instead, he literally said that the fans weren't engaged at all during his entire tenure ... horse s**t!  A player isn't entitled to express "feelings" that are lies, especially when they're shots at the fans, not management.

I saw one person notice how billionaires are perfectly willing to pony up billions for the highly appreciable asset (i.e. the team), but make the public pay for the assets that they need but will only deteriorate over time (e.g. the stadium).  So true (to my layman eyes, anyway) and so frustrating.

Well ... there's a reason that they're billionaires in the first place, and it's not because they invest in things that they know will lose value.

Plus, they have lots of options for places to move the franchise, but could you imagine the impact of losing the Bills on the community (and I'm guessing that it would have a disproportionate emotional impact on the poor guy working five jobs.)  Can you say leverage.

The shirts don't say "Arenas;" they say "Aretnas."  Once again, wtf is an Aretna.

PS They also were the St. Pats for a while.

Interestingly, they actually tried to split the difference between the two original Arenas jerseys.  The first one just had a big white 'T' with no 'ARENAS' at all.  The second was a true 'ARETNAS' jersey will all letters in white.  Here, the name is contrasted to the point where, from far away, it looks like the original.  Up close, however, you see the 'ARENAS' name like the second one.  Kinda neat, from that standpoint.

Tend to think it's our O line not our running backs. In any case I'm less confident in our defense than our offense. I'm okay with one corner if he's healthy but Wallace I'm less so. Overall we're not a good tackling team it seems at times. I like our safeties.  I would concentrate on improving both lines.

I'm pretty sure the line about drafting a RB (actually, that whole post) was sarcasm, as "needing to hand off more" because "we can't beat kc" is clearly nonsensical.  He even said previously that JA moved the ball at will.  LGR actually wants the CB and LB that he mentioned in the second line because that was a much bigger part of why we didn't beat kc.

  5. I just looked at this thread and thought, "wait, aren't they playing on Friday?"

Yeah, it's been one of those weeks.

Only 9 players in NFL history have 200+ receiving yards in a playoff game. 7 of them were on the winning team.  The two losers?  Moulds in '99 and Davis last night.  Because Buffalo?

And only one has four receiving touchdowns in a playoff game ... Davis last night.  Because Buffalo (and that thing about him being the future.)

    Spread was 6.

That's actually kinda dumb when you think about.  Finish regulation up 1, it's +1; finish regulation down 1, it's -1, but finish regulation dead even, it's +/- 3 or 6? 🤔  The Bills did better than losing by 1 in regulation, but didn't cover the 1 point spread?  To me, the game ended even and they just played a tiebreaker in OT.  Should be worth +/- 0.5, or something like that.

We just weren't good enough tonight.  Our offensive play calling was too conservative for too long.  Our offensive line was manhandled for most of the night.  Our defense was simply overwhelmed.  Overall, we simply got beat by a better team.

There were mistakes, no doubt, but we were leading with 13 seconds left.  Some bad coaching calls in that last 13 seconds cost them the lead.  Then, the NFL's OT rules meant that a coin flipped determined that their unstoppable offense faced our gassed defense, instead of the other way around.
