  1. Of four ways to get in, two are now gone. Only the Jacksonville game and our own left. Very good chance that tomorrow will be win for the #2 seed or lose to miss the playoffs (ok, ok, a tie would get the #6.)
  2. Every time I see one of those lying down with your toe out of bounds to grab a kickoff that has landed in bounds and make it "out of bounds" plays, I think two things: (1) The first person to do this was really smart (2) The fact that you can still do that is really dumb
  3. Well, our first game showed that, too. Chubb carted out with a knee injury today.
  4. I don't know if they would have had a chance to, but it does raise an interesting point. Brad Allen can be seen going to over to the defense presumably to tell them who is eligible, so if he only said 70 is eligible, then the Cowboys wouldn't have covered 68 as though he were eligible. So, that would taint the resulting conversion anyway.
  5. Brad Allen with another fine ref moment. Good chance that the Cowboys would have gone down and won by 2 anyway, but we'll never know. Side note: any else hate that the terms "ineligible" and "an eligible" are both used and sound exactly the same?
  6. Fair enough. Maybe they won't ... but maybe we go 1-1 ... then the winner of game 17 hosts a playoff game, while the loser (likely) misses the playoffs. 😲
  7. On paper, I would expect the last game to be for the division. The Bills should win both of their games before that, and I would expect Miami to go 1-1 in theirs. That said, too much potential for any given Sunday or "Billsy" losses to mess that up.
  8. Mahomes changed his tune ... (Emphasis added by me.)
  9. Indeed. That muffed punt was just awful. Really, all three of Miami's touchdowns were gifts. Their offense had 15 yards combined on the three. If Hill is bothered by that ankle for the rest of the season, they're in trouble.
  10. Well, well, well ... Miami goes down after being up by 14 in the 4th!
  11. I'm trying to decide which is more likely what Toney was thinking: "Hey Creed, what are you doing back here with the receivers?" or "Uhm, Von, do you mind? You're blocking my view of the ball!"
  12. Yeah, the tip of the ball is literally on the right hash mark, and Toney's foot is lined up two feet to the left of - but definitely not behind - the left hash mark. How he didn't realize that he was that far forward, I can't imagine.
  13. I get Mahomes' frustration at the end of the game. A very rare penalty likely cost them the game. But hadn't he or Andy seen a replay before they got to podium? Didn't he think, "damn, I didn't realize that he was that offsides!" The neutral zone is 11" or so, and his foot and helmet were in line with the Bills' end of the ball. He's further down field than his center!
  14. I believe that charges could still be brought if there is sufficient evidence of assault (bruises on her neck, any other eyewitnesses/video, etc.) However, with her recanting, exactly what happened here would happen it court. When there's two possible conflicting explanations, that's the definition of reasonable doubt, which favors the defense.
  15. Fixed. He tries not to be beat on one play, but gives up big chunks over and over.
  16. Daboll was offered an NFL head coaching job. Not much to wonder about there.
  17. And Gabe ... but mostly McDermott. 🤪
  18. Interception opportunities, especially those that have a chance of being returned, being what they are, I could see DaRond Bland setting the career pick-6 record (currently 12) or never having another one in his career. Still, his single-season record (5) in just 11 games is very impressive, especially for an elevated nickelback.
  19. Is "Billsy" in Webster's yet?
  20. Dang ... CJ Stroud ... 30/42, 470 yds, 5 TD, 0 INT, 147.8 Rating Not bad ... for a rookie
  21. Never gotten into how the NFL cap works, but do they not get any relief for three players going out for the season? If not, the system is messed up.
  22. My thoughts: 1) Please, please, please don't let Milano's injury be season-ending. 2) Offense took way too long to get over their jetlag. 3) Depleted D got worked, but Epenesa and a few others took the ball away enough to keep it close. 4) Ref's help or not, still waaaaay too many penalties. 5) That 2-point conversion went from looking like a walk-in to being shot down fast. Too soft of a throw and nothing doing after the catch. 6) What was Gabe Davis doing on that onside kick? It looked like he was in the best spot to make a play, but wasn't watching the ball at all (flew by low and facing backwards.) 7) Ugh, that last play ...
  23. That's what it was when I wrote it, but they started well before that. If I remember, they were down 21 with over 10 minutes left, had three straight plays with big pickups, but never hurried up.
  24. I'm surprised at how often Miami is letting the play clock run down below 10 after a run or a completion tackled in bounds. They're not showing any urgency to get back in it
  25. First, I didn't say Kincaid was bad or a bust - I'm sure that he'll be very good (possibly great) - just that moving up for him doesn't look so good when you have LaPorta taken seven spots after their original pick. They could be equally good, but 27+130 wouldn't be as good of a value as just 34. Second, it was a small-sample, offhand comment, not a definitive statement - "making a case ... " In four games, yeah, LaPorta has looked great: LaPorta - in 4 GP: 22 rec for 242 yds (avg. 11/rec) and a long of 45 Kincaid - in 3 GP: 11 rec for 72 yds (avg. 6.6/rec) and a long of 14 Usage is definitely a big part of it. I hope that Dalton is given a chance to show what he can do.
