Sabres are dressed to the nines

‘”The last couple weeks have been rough on the injury front but the guys who came up did an awesome job,” said Adam, who took ribbing from reporters for being a 42-game “veteran” of the NHL. “It takes every guy in the dressing room every night.”‘

McNabb, Szczechura latest to answer call

‘McNabb, 20, is one of Buffalo’s top prospects and was just 19 games into his pro career when the call came late Friday night. The Sabres took a free agent flier on Szczechura, 25, over the summer while he was coming off knee surgery and he got a surprise call Saturday morning when the Sabres realized Drew Stafford was going to be a scratch with a lower-body injury suffered Friday in Columbus.’

Hockey warriors play by the rules during fights

‘If you judged all sports by the way the Bruins and the Sabres went about settling their grudge match in the last two weeks, you would think the knights of medieval times had returned to reintroduce the age of chivalry.’

Stafford added to growing Sabres injury list

‘In the morning, Sabres coach Lindy Ruff said an unnamed forward had been injured Friday. The ninth was struggling winger Drew Stafford, who has a lower body injury and is day-to-day.’

Adam scores twice in Sabres’ 5-1 win over Capitals

‘“It was great to get through this one without any injuries,” Pominville said half-kiddingly. “It’s fun to see guys come up, be prepared, and be ready to play.”’

Sabres recall two to offset more injury losses

‘The call-ups were necessary after two more regulars went down in Friday’s loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Defenseman Robyn Regehr sustained an upper-body injury, and right wing Drew Stafford has an undisclosed injury.’

Buffalo 5, Washington 1

‘”I thought everyone participated on the offense tonight,” said Buffalo head coach Lindy Ruff. “All five guys on the ice participated and it was a good game, overall.” ‘

Young Guns Help Sabres Rip Caps 5-1

‘Missing nine regulars, including Robyn Regehr and Drew Stafford who both suffered injuries on Friday in Columbus, the Sabres received an all-star effort from a handful of their youngsters.’

McNabb recalled for tonight

‘The Sabres will be without two more regulars tonight against the Washington Capitals, as defenseman Brayden McNabb has been called up from the AHL to take the place of Robyn Regehr and sources tell WGR’s Jeremy White that Paul Szczechura has been recalled to take the place of an unnamed forward who went down last night due to injury.’
