‘Both have groin injuries and were ruled out by coach Lindy Ruff after practice Tuesday. Ruff says Miller is close to returning after the goalie practiced for a second straight day.’

‘But while his first two call-ups were briefs — in each instance, he was with the Sabres for just one game — Adam might have a chance for a longer big-league stay this time.’

‘"You’ve got to give him credit for trying to get through, but he just feels it’s hurting his play," Ruff said. "He’s a better skater than what he’s shown, but it isn’t working the way he’s trying to get it done, so the best thing to do is have it cleaned up."’

‘Ruff also indicated that forward Jochen Hecht is questionable for Wednesday’s home game against Pittsburgh after missing Monday’s practice with an upper- body injury.’
