Sabres sign 2009 top pick Kassian

‘Kassian scored seven goals and added nine assists in 19 playoff games and tacked on a pair of goals and three helpers during the Memorial Cup Tournament.’

Sabres agree to terms with 2009 First-Round pick Zack Kassian

‘Now in his fourth year of junior hockey, the 19-year-old Kassian (1/24/1991, 6’3”, 226 lbs.) currently leads the Ontario Hockey League’s Windsor Spitfires in scoring with 20 points (7+13) through 11 games. Kassian, who missed the start of the OHL season after an extended stay at Sabres training camp, is among the league leaders in scoring and has already posted a pair of four-point games this season.’

Sabres F Pominville cleared to return following concussion

‘On Monday, the club announced that Pominville was able to pass the baseline on a neuro-psych test, then returned to practice and skated with Derek Roy and Jochen Hecht. Buffalo does not play until Wednesday, when it welcomes the Boston Bruins.’

Pominville set to return

‘“He’s full go and fully anticipating playing on Wednesday (vs. Boston),” Head Coach Lindy Ruff said.’

Sabres F Pominville cleared to play

‘Coach Lindy Ruff says Pominville will be back in the lineup on Wednesday, when the Sabres (3-7-2) host Northeast Division rival Boston. Though he began skating with the team last week, Pominville was finally cleared after passing a concussion-related visual test before practice Monday.’

Sabres hit bottom on road trip

‘"We have to start winning," defenseman Shaone Morrisonn said. "We’ve got to put a string together here because it’s going to be too late. We’re going to have to play catch-up all year now. We’ve got to start now. There’s no time. Our urgency is now."’
