Goodfella25
The Story Pretty cool idea, I think. The NHL is long overdue to a general upgrade for their broadcasts, and I have never been a big fan of the current camera view that is used. Let's just hope this isn't as lame as the "color puck" thing they tried to pull where there was a streak so you could tell where the puck was. BetweenThePipes00
Sounds like it might be TOO close to the action ... like when they switch to the camera against the glass in the corner and by that time the puck is gone and you totally miss what happened. It's a fast game ... even with the current view the morons working the cameras can't always keep up. I wonder if getting closer is really better. But then I am just an old curmudgeon. Orange Seats
So they're going to use it for 2 games this season? Whoa, changes come at lighting speed! I assume it's because they'd have to install the rails in every rink. What about the robotic cable cameras that hover over football fields? Those would probably interfere with the puck, eh? Bmwolf21
I'd rather see Vs. try to improve their current camera work and in-game production before trying anything new... <_<
hopeleslyobvious
If I remember correctly ESPN used the rail cam at the World Juniors a couple of years ago. I was a big fan. It's a good angle and you can appreciate the speed of the game much more than the regular cameras.
