November 10, 1977

The Sabres finally break the curse of Kate Smith and the Broad Street Bullies, winning for the first time in their history in the Spectrum in Philadelphia, 3-2.

The Stanley Cup hangover is a fading memory as the Sabres beat the red-hot Bruins 6-2 at home for their fourth straight win and seventh in the last nine games. "We played like a pack of wolves," says Jason Woolley. Cub wolf Max Afinogenov scores his first NHL goal.
