I thought we would make an attempt at signing Mitchell as an UFA -- Darcy was on record as trying to trade for him last March. BUT if what the Star-Telegram reported is true, we could be a potential trading partner. Dallas has an abundance of defensemen, a couple of which would be in our price range, and they are in need of RWs. Who we could get: Janne Niinimaa (another Finn for the blueline) @ $2.5 MM or Phillippe Boucher (welcome back to Buffalo) @ $2.5 MM or Jon Klemm (this year's Teppo-type addition) @ $950,000 In return for one of these three, we could give up JP Dumont @ $1.6 MM or Ales Kotalik @ $880,000 looks like a win-win situation Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I thought the same until I checked out his stats from last season, which were impressive.
