Green Bay won't do that because he could then go to any team he wants. From what has been said on ESPN, Green Bay is willing to trade him to Tampa or New York (Jets), but another team could also come into the picture. Favre wants to be on a team that has a legitimate chance of going to the SuperBowl w/ him being their starting QB. I do not think Favre will be back in football. The Packers camp opens today and Favre has not signed the papers needed to be allowed back into the NFL. If nothing happens in the next week, it is an almost definite Favre will remain retired.
