  1. This. It's about winning from this point forward. The tear down is over...the rebuild is on.
  2. Seriously, Nolan has the chance to go from one of the most beloved coaches in Sabres history in his first stint with the club to the most reviled in his second (and last).
  3. It's always been about Eichel, IMO. Even with a 30th place finish there is still only a 20% chance of landing McDavid. He's icing on the cake (and, yes, who I and everyone else want). Last place at least secures Eichel. McDavid is a lottery draw either way and, if you were banking on getting him after this torture, you're just setting yourself up for more heartache. The "consolation prize" is finishing 29th and only having a low percentage draw for either McDavid or Eichel. If Arizona wins the shart, it's back to hoping for a lottery draw for Arizona just to land Eichel. Embrace if Eichel, rejoice if McDavid. Ditto. There is no reason to support a tank after this race to hell ends. Here's to hoping for a Monday night clinching celebration.
  4. The hockey gods... Bunch of gutless wonders. Blame the hockey gods. We can never have nice things. McEichel bye-bye... Buffalo curse lives. Can't even win at losing. Next Crosby is gone. Twenty-ninth just sucks. Lottery only chance now. Percentage is low.
  5. Amen! As much as it sickens me to ever pull for Carolina, a regulation loss on Monday would mean that everyone could finally exhale. It would be fantastic for the fans to be able to actually cheer for the team to win on Saturday and rid themselves of a year's plus worth of pent up frustration. It would be a well-deserved party and the tankers & anti-tankers could finally kiss and make up.
  6. Why can't GMTM spin him off for an asset(s) now, preserve the tank, & tell Neuvirth on the way out the door, "This helps our future...we're coming for you this summer. We want you to be our #1 when we turn things around next year."?
  7. Loved that and loved the pick.
  8. Agreed and that's why I posted that picture. Check out the links below. I think you'll be glad that you did. Close your eyes and let them take you back in time. Beautiful...from Ted's dulcet tones to the period music. Enjoy... B-) http://www.staffannouncer.com/audio/75sabrespart1.mp3 http://www.staffannouncer.com/audio/75sabrespart2.mp3
  9. Wow! That is absolutely awesome on all counts. :) I submit this darling picture...
  10. Well, that's more or less a given. You do have a minimum of four games in the Stanley Cup Finals. The Super Bowl is much more likely to produce a clunker in a one game winner-take-all scenario.
  11. It does take two to tango. I'm sure it's likely that Murray at least has the parameters in place for one or two things,
  12. Very sad. A great actor and, apparently, a tortured soul. Thoughts and prayers to his family. R.I.P.
  13. I don't see it happening until after Sochi. I think the Sabres appreciate the benefit that having the goaltender for Team USA on their roster brings. It's positive PR during an especially tough season for the fans. JMO
  14. Why in the world would he sign with the Sabres?! They reportedly were ready to back up a Brinks truck to his house and he declined. http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2013/10/28/report-sabres-were-prepared-to-make-vanek-highest-paid-player-in-nhl/ Gas? +1...elite, franchise changer. There's no guarantee that the Sabres would be picking first overall but, man, would he look good in a Buffalo sweater.
  15. Distrust and animosity towards him from Sabres fans...
