The chit chat during play is so curious to me. The core fans do NOT want to hear it. They are too into the game. Why would casual fans or new fans or viewers just peeking into the broadcast want to hear it? You know what lures me into a soccer game juuuust a wee bit? The announcers are so into it. I watch for a bit and can't get into it for about the 600th time in my life. But they had a shot at me. If they're not talking about the action, what does that tell me?

Hockey broadcasts have changed recently. I watch other teams broadcasts because I'm tired of Ray and Dunleavy but every team does this now. At least with Sabres there's still only 2 people. Other teams have 3-4 on broadcast and it's all talk and very little play by play. I have to watch most games on mute. The worst is a goal is scored while they are talking or when they play the delayed interview with the coach . I miss Ted and RJ

I’ll just leave it at this, in order to do good radio play by play and be of service to your listening audience, you have to be trained as a radio play by play guy and gain experience as a radio play by play guy by being a radio play by play guy. Especially in hockey, given the fast pace of the action.

Dunleavy has the same issues as anyone else in today’s TV sportscaster generation. He and his counterparts never came from the required radio background to do justice in that medium. And nobody will ever convince me otherwise.

you never know when the opponent scores with Dunleavy. His call on Benn goal was" and Benn with the one timer" . If you were listening on radio you would have had no idea he scored. Ray talks too much during the play so it does not translate to radio

I was, and still am fine with the lack of moves at the deadline. But as you said some things need to be done internally and externally this offseason.

-Has Comrie been playing still bothered by an injury? Do you think UPL can take a step forward in the offseason. If the answer to those things is "No" then you have to seriously think about goaltending again.

-Cozens, Tage, Power, even Peterka and the other young guys....can you convince them to spend more time on video or in Buffalo over the Summer, working on their 2 way game and just learning things they haven't been exposed to yet?

-Can you find and add a D-man with talent to be a 2nd pair guy....maybe 2 guys like that, and have them both added to your top 6?  In Addition to that, can you find a guy with NHL talent that may need a little work, and have him in Rochester so you at least have ONE more guy in the pipeline?

-Can Mitts be your true 2-way center?  A guy who can put up 40 or more points and be a top guy in the league at shutting down other teams top lines at the same time?  If No, can you find one?  It looks like you have your top 2 C's in terms of scoring/production, now I need a guy who is a TRUE shut down guy with SOME offensive talent.

I don't need the top free agent on everyone's list to come here, but I do want to see some progress on the above.

you have to seriously think about goaltending

That'd be awesome if Tampa could enter some sort of free-fall and we over take that 3rd spot in the Atlantic. Highly unlikely but that doesn't mean I can't dream.

I'll be in attendance tonight, I can't remember the last time I've had interest in going to a game this late in the season. I was at the Edmonton game last year where Cozens went off, hoping for a repeat.

they've lost 5 in a row and playing poorly...I think they're already falling
