just watched the Avs - Peg highlights.
Well executed white out, but they wore road team colors.
Mitts with a dirty goal.
I honestly cannot see our team not being embarrassed in a game like this one. These games are at a level our boys have not seen yet, even our veteran players.
it was dumb to switch to home team wearing colors instead of whites. The original reason was to see the different colors of each team when you play them at home....now it's road teams wearing white. it needs to go back

this sale along with taxpayer money and PSL's will cover the cost of the Stadium so Pegula won't have to pay anything

I’ve learned the people who earn respect in the work place take personal responsibility or as some would say accountability. Blaming the coach for not being motivated is a cop out and a sign of major mental weakness. Could imagine telling people at work, I’d do a better job if my boss just pushed me more. No one would respect anything you did or said ever again.
Maybe those 8 year $80M contracts have something to do with it

WGR is debating who could be the favorite on next coach. Lindy keeps coming up.
I love the idea of Brindamore, but Lindy not out of the question - firey but has proven he can develop young guys in his reboot in NJ.
He loves Buffalo and would be a fan favorite out of the gate, perhaps Lindy is a credible bridge to the long term coach.
I understand the "no way to Lindy" crowd, but it legitimately could make some sense and could work.
I'm sure I'm wrong and often am. But I know I don't know and never say never.
Go Sabres!
Forever fan even through the valley of despair.
you just did

Just watched the replay of the game. Gotta say, best game from Cozens and Greenway in a long time.
Can we not wait 80 games to play like a real team next year?? Coaching...cough cough.....
you should get that cough looked at. Probably need a new staff but how do you explain when they play so well at times and awful so many others? Is coaching good and bad or just players inconsistent? Not directed towards you just general question

Last one. The angst will be over for a while. But will we miss them when they're gone? Be honest.
No, we get to watch real hockey now and compare them to playoff teams

By most accounts yes. But this is a Pegula hockey team. Adams was operating under strict cost controls - forced under the cap while bringing in NHL stalwarts like Bjork, Sheahan, Irwin, Hagg, Hinostoza, Reider, Houser, Subban, Tokarski, Dell, Jost, Comrie, Stillman, Clague and Robinson. There are more.
I could give you the list of players shipped out in that time frame but that will hurt and leave a mark.
Pegula knows they are not trying to win and he is ok with it.
Next year. Just wait until next year.
I get all this. I was just replying to thread title but agree

He's been GM since June 2020 and his teams have yet to make the playoffs. That should be considered a failure.

So it's the fans that force players to leave? Not a losing organization that no one wants to play for

I'm right with you @Scottysabres.
And @shrader nailed it. This team has learned to play a tight defencive game. With a return to a more reasonable amount of scoring the Sabres will be in a better positon to win more games next season.
They played well and have a winning record in the second half this season. If they could have eaked out a few more points in the first half they would be in it this season when 89 looks to be the 8th seed in the East.
Correct, if they could have won more games they would be in the playoffs, but they didn't and they are not.

Imagine if this team was ready to start games? That to me, is on the coaching staff not having them ready to go. The sample size is ample.
players know what time the games start

A “Sell the Team Terry” rally at the arena or at the least as very vocal “Sell the team” chant during the final home games.
Embarrass him into action.

as much as a new coaching staff is needed, as long as Pegula and Adams are in charge not much will change
