UB40 and my honey Chrissie did a nice little remake of it - I wake up on our Groundhog Day to that version.
Listening to UB40 right now...

it’s literally a mulligan, a redo, a waste of one year of our time
Would you prefer he stood pat and brought them all back?

I think that's what threw us off.

How is he worse than Bryson? Anyone have any fancy stats on this?
Yeah, kinda weird.

Maybe the arena needs new seats?

That’s 8 guys gone from last year’s team including 4 guys Adams brought in last summer.
Those first four were definitely non-permanent, transitional players.

Now add a center to the team that is better than the current next in line option Kozak.
...although I don't think Kozak is a bad option. I thought he acquitted himself well on his limited NHL time last season.

So 2/3rds of the NAK, Lafferty, Malenstyn revamped 4th line that was supposed to help get the team to the playoffs last year is now off the team one year later. I wonder if Malenstyn gets traded later today.
Those three were exactly what they were expected to be. They were filling spots left by departures of the previous 4th line, allowing the Sabres to not have to pull prospects out of Rochester and let them develop. They were never intended to be long term members of the team. For as much as people like to bag on them, it was better to have them it was better than having a line of 3 kids trying to learn to play shut down minutes on the fly.

Good. On paper. He looked like a decent fourth liner but it didn't seem to work out. Good to get something for him and good for him to move on.
Exactly the way I see it. He was a Star Trek Red Shirt- expendable.

30 miles north of Buffalo is Lake Ontario. (Just going all pedantic on you, I know it's about 30 miles away, and mostly north.)

Yep. With my new car. I think they just use those pics around the showroom.

Outside of Zucker what deals have Adams made that helped the team improve and push them close to a playoff spot?
McLeod is okay too.
And frankly I don't have a problem with the 4th liners he brought in. They were expendable and got dropped as appropriate. I don't think our 4th line was the problem.

That's the least of our problems.

My expectation/hope is that Quinn, JJP, Power, Benson, Kulich and Samuelsson will be better. Am I being unreasonable? I don't think so. All these young players have enough experience where they should be a lot more comfortable in manly league.
I don't think it's unreasonable. They've all showed signs of being better players than they were last season. The question is: Who are they really? Are they the Better Players they've shown signs of in the past, or the One Step Back players we saw last season? Was last year their collective sophomore slump and they'll bounce back this year? Will some of them do so? Which ones won't?

Hmmmm so another year with minor band-aids coming up
They are going to say how much they "value" each of their players until they move them.
I expect a major move or two, possibly someone who is under the radar at the moment.

I can't believe they couldn't sell an NLL franchise. They are in demand. Was there a clause to keep them in Rochester? Maybe that's the rub. Blue Cross Arena is not exactly state of the art. A city the size of Rochester ought to have a 16-18K seat venue.
So much demand that when the Fort Worth NLL club stopped operations last year, no other city was interested in buying a team that was established and had made playoffs the last two seasons. They just folded.
The Bandits are a unicorn that they have a good team in a big league city arena and little to no competition for fans during their season (since the Sabres suck hard ballz).
Rochester is a more typical city for the league and if they can't support an NLL club, why would another city want to jump on that?

Does anyone know off the top of their head how well set up Florida is for next year as an early projection? Just curious.
Bennett would be the main substantial loss right if they don’t retain him
I really like to watch the Panthers, but it genuinely hurts every time I see him play. And does make me hate the Sabres a bit more.
For me not so much hate, just disappointment.
