That's Hamilton's impression; it does not mean it's what really happened.
-
Interesting that he refers to PLF's departure as being "tossed" by the organization.
-
And frankly, a lot of the best "finishers" are the same way. They are invisible until the goal is scored. Brett Hull, Shanny, etc., would float around finding seams in the defense and wait for the puck to come to them. Ovechkin does it that way today. In fact I noticed during the Montreal game that Vanek is doing the Ovi thing where, when his team is on defense, will hang out very high, maybe even outside of the zone, waiting for the breakaway pass.

Lol I call people in their mid 20s kids
My kids are in their mid 20s.

That was a particularly weak third period.

The Stafford curse asserts itself.
-
Yep. The starting goalie spot is up for grabs, but not because of a void. There are a few guys that are gonna make a strong effort to win the job.
-
John Scott picked the perfect team to sign with. There's no way he gets regular ice time with any other team. That said, it seems like the more he plays, the better he gets. He's not faster; he'll always be slow. But he makes better hockey plays.
Did that look like a trip to anyone on the forum? I'm just not seein' it.
-
See? The curse of Stafford. They waived that goal off because of it.
-
Staff scored. You know what that means, right? Sabres lose.
Anyone else have the Calgary feed as their only option?
I'm watching MSG in Texas.

17/23/27; 44/37/32
I'm okay with this arrangement. I think Deslauriers is better on a line with Ellis and Scott than with Lame-o. On the other line, I think Mitchell and D'Ags can cover for Lame-o adequately.
I like the earlier prediction that Deslauriers scores a goal tonight; Ellis will create the opportunity out of the corner with his hustle while Scott plugs the crease and screens the goalie, leaving Nic as the trigger man. You never know; it could work.

Talk about wet dreams....!

I'm looking at a Pens scenario. He'll get us close and then the new coach wins the cup.
I think that this is too close to the old bad Sabres thinking.
I prefer this line of Thinking: The only thing that matters is the crest and the city. As long as those things are in tact, I don't care who is on the team or in the organization when we win the cup, just win the cup.
I think Nolan is aware of all of this. I think his goal is to win it before they have a chance to hand the team to someone else. If you think he's pushing the players to play hard now, just wait until the team is competitive; I think you'll see him go to full crop.

They have NEVER lost 8 in a row.
Never say NEVER.

27 Matt D’Agostini – 23 Ville Leino – 44 Nicolas Deslauriers
Ack. That line would look better with ANYONE ELSE at center besides Leino. Can John Scott take a faceoff?
Plus idk who their goalies even are,
McDonald was the backup to Jimmy Howard in Detroit. Perpetually on the AHL-NHL bubble. The other guy I don't know either.

The captain disappearing act isn't something unexplainable. We're a team that has been in sell mode for a few years. Captains are generally talented and valuable players. Ergo teams would give good offers to acquire them.
So if we put a C on Staff, it will tell the rest of the league how valuable he is. Right? Right?
-
We really need to end this tank so I can find another player to have man crush on.
I made my choice, although Lieuwen is trying to make me reconsider.
-
my joke about the captain dissapearing from the roster is now scaring me
So is it agreed that Stafford should be the next to wear the C?
-
If I let fear of corporate cronyism prevent me from consuming I'd be living under some pine branches in the woods wearing the pelts of the animals I've killed for food.
Is this a feasible option? Because if it is, I'm in.
I agree, but you think they would want to bust their humps so that they may be part of this team going forward. Why? Seriously, better to get waived and try with another, more successful, franchise.
I think much of what I read here is the byproduct of The Tank. People say they want the Sabres to stink it up for the #1 pick but the reality makes us crazy.
...as foretold by the prophecy.
-
Deslauriers - Girgensons - Foligno should be our 3rd line next year.
I could get behind that.
-
BTW, it is awesome that you have a chart titled Tank.
Someday we'll look back at this and laugh.
I hope.

He's sleeping alright.
The thing that aggravates me is how much Deslauriers is playing with him. Nic shows promise. I hate to see that sucked out of him by the mere presence of Leino.
-
...deslauriers continues to impress...leino is still useless...
And unfortunately since they play on the same line they cancel each other out. How about putting Deslauriers on the line with Foligno & Hodgson? (Or do Deslauriers and Foligno play the same side?)
-
Defense and Goalie seem to be set for the future.
Now for some extremely talented forwards.
If the D is so good, why are the Sabres routinely allowing 40+ shots per game.
Vanek Traded to NYI for Matt Moulson, 1st in 2014 (or 2015!), 2nd in 2015; 4 Months Later: Moulson to MN for 2014/2016 2nd Rounders

I won't disagree, but my point is that just because he "looks" lazy out there doesn't mean he isn't being effective.
