Merry Christmas. Our family started a new Christmas tradition after dinner - a spirited game of Cards Against Humanity. I tied with my youngest son for the win. That's me on the far left, then my older son, my younger son and my wife.

Anyone notice the ad for Harborcenter during the games? Perfect target audience.
-
Yeah but will any rejoin the Sabres after the game? That was really the point of that post.
-
Schaller, Armia, Grigerenko and Pysyk all returned to dreary Rochester.
There's an Amerks game tonight. Let's see if any of them play that game, then shuffle back up to Buffalo for tomorrow night's tilt.

Soylent green.
GO SABRES!!!
GET OFF MY LAWN YOU ROTTEN KIDS.

I liked Paetsch. Versatile, playing wing or D, not prone to the big mistake.
-
I forget, do we point out misspelled player names?
I'll be damned. I swear I checked it and saw a d in there. Mea culpa.

Any of you young turks that voted against Bert in the other poll, need to abstain from this vote as you aren't qualified to evaluate the 1975 team in any context whatsoever.
Hats of to Biodork for bringing a measure of integrity to the process.
GO SABRES!!!
What about the old farts that didn't vote in the other poll and still picked '06?

The 2006 teams wins it all without a run of injuries that can be called extraordinary. In 1975, the better team won. I was at the 1975 final game. I lost my 8th grade "Perfect Attendance" certificate because I lined up all night for SRO seats.
This is exactly correct. And we are very close to the same age; I think I was in 7th grade that year.

Grigo on the PK? I like it.
-
Mental mistake by Flynn there.
-
Zadorov just destroyed Weiss.... hope that doesn't lead to a suspension.
-
Even Redmond said he thought they were gonna call goalie interference on the Red Wings feed.
-
WHY is that not goalie interference???
-
Nice game management by Neuvirth.
-
They've faced the backup goaltender in 8 of their 13 wins. Tonight would make it 9 of 14.
But not by Detroit's choice. Howard is injured.
Ristolainen with the save of the game right there.
Amazing stuff right there.
Ain't skeered. There's been a lot of turmoil on the back line. He needs to see this and learn from it.

The Sabres really like to block shots. I don't remember seeing Roy or Pomminstein do too much of that. I like these Sabres better. More heart.
GMTM/Nolan Sabres are more motivated than Darcy/Lindy Sabres, for sure.
By the paddle of Enroth, by the glove of Neuvirth
I resemble that remark.

A SHORTIE BY BENOIT????? :w00t: :flirt:

Mickeyism regarding Zadorov: "He's a tall drink of water at 6 foot 5."
That was a weak penalty though.

They keep re-showing the Stewart goal, pointing out that both Nyquist and Kindl were caught looking, and pointing out that Smith thought Kindl had Stewart covered. Also at the start of the play, Steward was almost down in the defensive corner and skated past all the Red Wings.
Redmond on Buffalo's 1-2-2 defense: "They are just BLANKETING the ice."
-
I have the Red Wings coverage on. A lot of complimentary things to say about the Sabres' recent run, although they think it won't last. Best line so far was discussion of the CoHo/Kassian trade, a trade that according to Mickey Redmond "both teams equally lost." That was before CoHo set up the second goal (which was a very sweet, high-skill setup).
Goodness, but I do like Pysyk's hockey sense.
He may not be the most talented or roughest Dman the Sabres have, but he's the smartest, imo.
What a play!! I'm Ready to like this team. ..I can ALMOST see my team out there
Not that they're a world-beater, but this is a team that's turned the corner. They will never be as bad as they were last season or the first month of this season.

To go off topic, Josie, Toledo today sounds like Buffalo in the 1970s when the steel industry collapsed.
We went to Toledo several times when we lived in Detroit (we actually lived in Troy, then Auburn Hills, then Dearborn). Took in a Mudhens game or two, visited the zoo which I remember as quite nice.
