  1. This team can score and can get stellar goaltending, and that's when they look unbeatable. Still, I've seen only a handful of games that made me say, "wow, the defense really shut XXXteam down." Just look at how often we get outshot.
  2. Someone tell me again that this team's problem is goaltending...It's ALL defense/forwards not helping on defense.
  3. I guess that's what it takes... Toronto finally beats Biron, 2-1. EDIT: I've noticed that Lydman is still giving the puck away. I missed the first 13 minutes of the game, and I've already seen two giveaways by him that could have easily turned into goals.
  4. Ahhhhhhhhh....The poor thing (Tucker) is hurt.
  5. But the bottom line is that if the officials don't call the games the way they have been (and supposedly should be), they are done. Plain and simple.
  6. Gotta love that NHL officiating. The Sabres deserve no excuses for this patheticness, but just like the Sabres, the NHL teased us early in the year into thinking the league wasn't a joke...Has this team gotten one favorable call since the Olympic break?
  7. What a tease...I really thought Buffalo finally had a team that wasn't a fraud. Yes, good teams have slumps. Yes, good teams play poorly at times. Yes, the Sabres have injuries. But guys, Cup contenders don't go for 1/8 of a season looking as if it would take a miracle for them to get through a game without giving up at least 3 goals. And for the last 10 games, that's how they've looked.
  8. First time this year I've seen a goaltender called for playing the puck outside the 'zoid. So far, this game looks like the one against Ottawa except that this Atlanta team doesn't have the talent. Biron looks good, but the skaters look like they took a dose of Zhitnik.
  9. I agree. It wasn't elbowing or high sticking, but it was certainly interference.
  10. Well, he's been held scoreless for TWO WHOLE GAMES!
  11. Who is hot? Apparently just about everyone on the Sabres...
  12. I know, buddy...Just joshin' with ya'. I think Biron will fit in well tomorrow.
  13. He looked good on that 1 save. ;)
  14. YEAH BABY!!! And this was easily Grier's worst game of the year.
  15. I would have been quick upset had that call been made against Buffalo...Although Tallinder got a cheapy earlier.
  16. 5 goals on 20 shots, all high. Still, we won the period 4-3. Think the guys are in there saying that they may owe Ryan a game or two since he's pulled so many out fo them? That'd be like this group.
  17. I like Ruff sticking with him...Still gotta think his psyche is fragile, let him work this out now while we aren't facing elimination from anything. I wonder if Biron is salivating.
  18. I actually thought Miller kept the Sabres in the game on Thursday, but it seems to me that he's thinking a lot more about his saves/goals allowed, and it's starting to affect how he plays. He's a little tight, and I really hope he can do whatever Buddhist ritual he did to get in the fame of mind he's been in thus far to snap out of it. Miller's still making some great saves and the Sabres are still getting quality chances. Add that to the fact that the Sabres just don't get phased by adversity, and I'm thinking Buffalo isn't out of this one yet.
  19. They DO look pretty stupid today, don't they? Anyway, the reason the Sabres are down 2-0 is because their goaltender has made big saves and our's hasn't. Is there anyone out there who is STILL glad that Ryan Miller didn't go to the Olympics?
  20. The real question is: Will 2nd Round Pick be dressed for tonight's game?
  21. I'm far too young to have had the Timmy Ho-Ho experience, but my old man recounted the day of his death for me between periods earlier this year. I had no idea the scene of the car crash was so grizzly, and that Horton had been decapitated. My father worked on the bridges at the time, and apparently it was made quite clear early on that the destruction was total. Only knowing the periphery, it was something to hear the whole story.
  22. I hope that you are correct, sir. I just feel that we will have trouble putting many starch products into their receptacle tonight. I'm sure Miller will play well, but Rory will be in the lineup tonight, so I expect Les Habitants to have more than a few good scoring chances. All that being said, the Sabres are still a better team, so maybe we pull this one out.
  23. The Sabres will play Ruff's (solid) game style and secure that all-important road point before going after the winner. Huet's hotness will likely continue. Montreal wins 3-2 in OT.
