  1. Hmmm.... I put WC, Liger, inky and juju on ignore, and now this thread is readable again.

For the record, it's not that you disagree with the pick that did it, it's that the four of you keeps saying the same things OVER AND OVER.  Give it a rest guys, you probably need to take a break.

I'm a believer that every message board needs widely disagreeing opinions to keep it interesting. This would be a really boring place if we all thought alike. I'll state my mind even it if goes against 99% of the board. But, I completely agree that the game of "I'll post the same thing 100 times in various forms to convince you that you're wrong" gets exhausting. It's like arguing politics.

  2.

Never seen Mayfield, Rosen, Darnold, Jackson, Rudolph, White, Lauletta, McCarron, Peterman, or EJ Manuel play, have you?

And I didn't copy and paste a tweet by anyone, since I don't use Twitter.

...Other than White and Lauletta, I've seen all of them. All but Rosen and Darnold in person. I've worked for ACC, Pac-12 and SEC schools... now at an AAC school (we'll have a kid drafted soon).

  3. In 2016, he had NFL-caliber players around him and still ranked 101 out of 133 QBs in PFF's adjusted completion percentage.  By Football Outsiders' QBASE formula, he has a negative QBASE.  The best, best, QB ever with a negative QBASE is Josh McCown or Brian Greise.  He was more off target than DeShone Kizer's final season.  Against the blitz, the other top-6 QBs all had ratings over 100.  Allen had a 73.4.  30% of his pass attempts were within 5 yards of the line of scrimmage, a higher rate than Mayfield, Rosen, or Darnold, debunking the myth that the system he played in negatively affected his stats.

Never seen him play, have you? You just copied and posted a tweet by Steve Palazzolo

  4. Like when everyone in Buffalo hated the trade up to get Watkins and then it turned out awesome?

I distinctly remember certain "always right" posters here loving the Watkins trade-up. I'm sure it is searchable, but I'm too lazy to look.

  5. Ink nailed it. There is 0.0% chance Allen is even in the league after 4 years. That means we get a new HC and GM after 3-4 years, a new process, and a whole new draft where we will never have as good as opportunity and will prolly still ###### it up Because Buffalo.

Ink is right, this is another decade of ######

I'll take that bet. I like the Allen pick (me and Gramps against the world). All I can say is I'm a college football junkie and I see a kid who went JUCO then played 2 years at a nothing program with no talent around him. IMHO it's not about his college resume. It's about what he can become with good coaching. When Wyoming went up against much better programs (Iowa, Oregon, Boise State) his stats suffered. The other guys - Darnold, Rosen, and Mayfield - played at blue blood programs with NFL-type coaching. So, they're clearly ahead of Allen at this point. But, I think Allen is a kid with better physical tools than all of them... he just hasn't really been coached. It's a gamble, no doubt. But, the "automatic bust, sky is falling" stuff is way overblown IMHO. But, this is a controversial pick, no doubt. So, I get it.

  6. Edwards is a great pick

    Edmunds.

I've seen every single game of Tremaine Edmunds' college career. He is insanely good. A physical freak. A tackling machine. NFL bloodlines (his Dad was an NFL tight end)... we should draft his brother next.

This is a ridiculously good pick.

  7. You all were bitching up a storm when we picked Tre'Davious White last year.

I love the Allen pick. Kid has physical tools that are elite. The racist tweet stuff was strategically floated to the press less than 24 hours prior to the draft (those tweets were deleted back in January). My guess is by someone or some organization that wanted to hurt his draft status... that wanted to make sure he fell in the draft...

  8. You say that like they're in the same universe as prospects :P

I actually think Josh Allen is the better prospect. He is a physical freak. Giant arm and quick release. But, a lot more raw than Rosen. I'm good with either. Especially if we can keep all of these other picks and still get one of the top-4 QBs!

  9. Yes!!!! Buffalo will need to jump Miami and Arizona. By not trading up to Denver, they are saving high round picks. Beane seems to be playing it well right now.

Beane is the first GM we've had in forever who seems to know what he is doing in terms of not overpaying to make a "splash." I really like it.

  10. Some people have said Denver only cared about Darnold and Mayfield, so we might not have to move up far at all

I could easily see Denver jumping on Chubb

I think so. I was reading the Denver press the past couple of weeks and I don't think they plan to take a QB.

Only the Browns could up picks #1 and #4.  ;)
