  1. I'm not going to fault Terry for being an absentee owner right now.  I would imagine a majority of his day to day attention is on Kim still.  Plus the Bills are the cash cow, so I would imagine a majority of his remaining attention is on them.  That's not even getting into his other business interests & family obligations.  That's a lot to handle for a guy that is 70 something.

What I will fault him for is that he has struggled pretty badly to find the right people to lead the team - both coach and GM.  You gotta get those hires right if you are going to essentially ignore the Sabres.  When it isn't right, you need to be willing to step in and turn the page and I'm not sure he will do that.

As to the question, they are definitely bottom 5 right now.

Idk… Probably will take Levi out west to play the Vancouver game… Makes sense… Risk is it upsets the team dynamic… UPL is why we are even still talking playoffs and the players know it… Levi is a big ego with a big personality… As long as Adams keeps a leash and muzzle on the kid… and he behaves himself in the room.

I'm so confused.  Did I miss something with Levi?  Did he do something awful that I never heard about?

Pulling Levi up is the only sensible thing to do with the back to back.  You can't have comrie playing.  He is 1-7 this year with a .86 save percentage.  🤮

I am highly skeptical that KA could've gotten more for Mitts than Byram.  Frankly, I'm pretty surprised he got that much.

You might be right, I might be overvaluing Mitts and/or undervaluing Byram.

But my point is that if he wasn't "shopping" Mitts like he said he wasn't, he would never know whether he was getting appropriate value.  And if he was "shopping" Mitts, then he certainly didn't wait long enough for other teams to try to outbid the Avs.  If the Avs gave him an ultimatum, he absolutely should have been "shopping" him the whole time.

  4. I'm not a fan of the trade.  I don't think they got appropriate value for a player that is currently playing extremely well at a premium position, is young, and still has rfa years.

KA has repeatedly said he "isn't shopping" Mitts.. as recently as that interview with Fairburn in the Atlantic (it was the day of the game vs. VGK).  KA, for the most part, seems like a pretty straight shooter.  I don't recall him ever misleading the media intentionally.  If he had an offer from the Avalanche that he was willing to accept, he absolutely should have been shopping Mitts to find out if that is the best deal he could get for him.  If he did "shop" Mitts in the meantime to all the other teams, he really should be waiting until closer to the trade deadline to let other teams try to outbid the Avs or for the Avs to feel the heat and offer more.  IMO, either way you look at it.. he kind of screwed the pooch.

side note:  screwed the pooch is an odd phrase, never really thought about that one in a literal sense.
