I’m in no position to evaluate a goalie prospect, honestly.  My grade there is just based on the general consensus that he was not rated as the 41st best prospect, and that I didn’t love the choice of a goalie there.  I’m ok with it, but I didn’t love it.  C+ isn’t that bad.

Hope he lives up to the selection.

I do not think so and his Elite Prospects page doesn’t show him being drafted in the CHL.

The tweet from the MHL indicates that he’s playing there next year. It says “Victor Neuchev is maintaining his shape in full order. How many points will this machine score in the new season?”

  3. I remember being at a game when I was a kid where there was a brawl at the end of the pregame skate after the refs left the ice. I can't remember who the other team was, but it was in the Aud and had to be sometime between 1985 and when I left for college in 1992. Does anyone remember this?

    When they deserve it, duh.

My flawed recollection was Regier's pain comment soon after Briere and Drury's departure. Am I off?

Yes. At least if you mean the infamous suffering comment.

it was maybe 5 years later?

Post Ehrhoff/Leino free agency failure, when Darcy was basically revealing that Terry had green-lit the tank.

    It was 2013: https://www.diebytheblade.com/2013/5/3/4267540/buffalo-sabres-season-recap-darcy-regier-suffering

I don't necessarily hate the stars but ***** them too. And Philly, The Senators.

I guess I really do hate everyone 😁

I don't hate the Stars anymore, but I my hate for Derien Hatcher knows no bounds. He played for the Flyers too. And John LeClair shot the puck through the side of the net and it counted. That was the year after No Goal, if I recall it correctly. And Neil's hit on Drury. Yeah, I hate those teams too.

  6. Bruins. As a Buffalo sports fan I hate all teams from Boston. They also are the only team that has been in the Sabres division during all the realignments that have occurred. The East, Adams, Northeast and now Atlantic divisions all had Boston. The Leafs were in the Norris and then in the Western Conference for a time in the 90's.

There certainly value in keeping him in Rochester.

My question is more along the lines of how far in his pro level development is he?  I have no idea.  I also don't know how much he has played in Vegas.

He only has 20 professional games. 13 in Vegas and 7 in the AHL.

  8. To put the full context to this, that meeting took place on May 23, 2010. That was the day of Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals where the Hawks swept the Sharks. 17 days later, the Hawks lifted the cup. Not to say that Quennville was right to be concerned primarily with team chemistry but you can see where he was coming from.

I really didn’t think I cared, but I honestly don’t care if Lehner ever wins another game,… ever.

In fact, I hope he doesn’t.

I didn’t realize how much hated him until watching this game. I mean, I’m openly pulling for ROR over him.

Switched over to football and baseball after the 1st period. Not sure how much the no name goalie contributed to the final score, but a nice opening game! 👍

Anderson played well. The lone goal that he gave up was not on him. FWIW, I wouldn't really call him "no name." He was a starter in this league up until last year. He's just old, so it was a strange signing. If we had signed him 5 years ago when he started 40 games, winning 25 of them with a .926 SV%, I would have understood the move. Signing him when he ad one foot in retirement was a bit of a head scratcher.

  11. I did a little research, and what I found was that all the NHL teams are required to insure their top 5 contracts with the BWD Group, a NY insurance company. There has been a lot of speculation that it's the insurance company that is preventing the ADR surgery. Since it's the same insurance company, would any team that trades for Jack have to actually assume that $50 million risk?  If that's the case, expect the return to be really small.
