This is like the 2008–09 sabres team no one wanted to take leadership of the team so the guy they traded for was named captain.
So embarrassing that no one wanted to step up this time too

This is sounding more like a team a coach like Gallant can motivate and help get to the next level.
There's just something fishy about that dude .
Great coach then kaboom

I really don’t think Lindy was ever a great coach. I understand he won a Jack Adams, but at no point in time, in my memory at least, was he considered a top-5 coach in any respect. I also don’t think he ever elevated a roster. He’s arguably coming in to equalish talent to his last playoff team here. I don’t think he was good enough in those years, and I don’t think he will be now.
I get it. We all love Lindy. But can we not admit that his win total comes from the fact he coached an organization that was under incredible turmoil and then a penny pincher. He was here because nobody wanted more. It’s long been a problem with the organization.
I know I’ll take a lot of heat for this but this board incredible overrates Ruff.
How can you say he's not a good coach when the owner wouldn't give him any help financially.
I would like to see how many other coaches would have the success he had with extreme budgets

The question among Philly fans is where is he and what's wrong with him? Nobody seems to know.
To all the people who said Kane would suck if we signed him, 47 pts. in 49 games or something like that so I guess his hip is okay.
I got the first round match ups I wanted. Hate the Leafs always, Bruins are my B team, can't ask for more than that. Florida should also be a total war. Going to be some good hockey.
I just thought he was scratched didn't know about that hopefully he's all right

What happened was awful but how did Quenneville directly ruin the kid’s career? The coaching staff at the AHL level and Bowman as GM would have been more directly involved.
It should have been handled way differently from an organizational standpoint.
All I’m saying is Quenneville was disciplined by the league and if they decide to reinstate him as some sources seem to think, he will be sought after as he is an excellent coach. If he is available the Sabres should talk to him.
Former Blackhawks player Kyle Beach says Quenneville knew the coach raped him and did nothing about it.

Someone give me the abridged version of Quennville. Whatever happened didn’t take root in my memory banks and I’m too damned distracted to go find it.

He's only sorry because he got caught I can't forgive people like him

I think Brindamour is extended already in Carolina.
Berube brings exactly what Adams was spewing today: experience, structure, fire, Cup champion
Quenneville is the wildcard. He made a mistake and paid the price. He has apparently taken all the steps to improve himself. He has paid his debt and will get a second chance. I think it should be in Buffalo. Brings everything Adams is looking for.
Ruff is the low hanging fruit and the least desirable choice but does add what Adams wants.
Gallant and Boudreau are not known for structure.
Berube or Quenneville are the hopes, Ruff is the fallback expectation.
It will be interesting because Adams sounded like his ass is in the fire now. I would expect some trades and signings this summer that are outside his comfort zone.
I'm sorry how? Did he receive jail time ? He got to stay home and be with his millions of dollars how is that a punishment
