  1. Cross the shutout off the list. What short-term goal falls next?! A lead?
  2. Who do think of as comps for Benson, long term? I think a Theo Fleury type player.
  3. Looks like our zone entries are more dump and chase tonight than trying to stick-handle through three guys. I pray that one of these days they combine it with one or two kamikazes who skate in a hundred miles an hour to blow up whoever goes back for the puck, to force some turnovers. Imagine how confused the other team would be... "What is this?? They NEVER do that!"

  5. If he played to his size, he’d be a monster. He reminds me of Big Mike in the Blind Side. I can picture him reading Ferdinand the Bull.
  6. I’m convinced that although we’re the youngest team in the league, we’re nowhere near the best conditioned.
  7. I recall really loathing the Krueger team with Taylor Hall.
  8. It does make one wonder what “role” the Sabres play in the Pegula’s business empire. Do they turn a profit? Is it just a hobby? Are Adams and Granato just bargain yes-men who will toe the line through an efficient and economical and lengthy rebuild regardless of measured progress? If so, the players aren’t stupid. They see the way the organization is run compared to others they’ve been in. The coaches have to run it like a “family” country club to counteract the losing. “We’re not getting any better but at least they don’t hassle us”.
  9. Is a Sabres-Bills GM comparison fair given Pegula’s “efficient and economical” edict (or whatever the exact words were)? Seems the Pegulas approach the two teams quite differently, no?
  10. As I've said in other threads, my frustration comes with a lack of PROGRESS, even small progress. I guess we can say there's been some progress in goal-tending, and maybe the PK(?) vs last year. Beyond that, other than progress by JJP, who else shows signs of progress? Are the top scorers going to come CLOSE to last year's production? That's not even treading water-- that regressing. And the long, patient rebuild is one thing for us message board posters to deal with, but quite a different thing for NHL players who have a career shelf-life to consider. Who's gonna get fed up want out next? Do the players feel like management is doing everything possible to make them a winner? I wonder.
  11. Well, you know what they say about what happens when you assume... 😜
