  1. My feelings about the hire, and the Sabres in general, is pretty well summarized by this quote from Charlie Munger, who is Warren Buffett's 97-year old partner at Berkshire Hathaway (and a really bright guy): "The secret to happiness is to lower your expectations. ...that is what you compare your experience with. If your expectations and standards are very high and only allow yourself to be happy when things are exquisite, you'll never be happy and grateful. There will always be some flaw. But compare your experience with lower expectations, especially something not as good, and you'll find much in your experience of the world to love, cherish and enjoy, every single moment."
  2. Loved watching him and the French Connection as a kid. I always thought he had a cool name. RIP.
  3. TSN guys at the tournament just now already talking about Power as a Sabre as almost a foregone conclusion.
  4. Yeah, I know, but what part of Eichel's year-end comments sounded like a guy "who wants to be here"? Isn't that the basic standard the organization is operating under now?
  5. I'm not following it very closely at all, but the cynic in me feels like Jack doesn't want to be here anymore, and is trying to figure out how to shoot his way out of town without looking like the bad guy. And his obviously legit injury is his vehicle for doing so.
  6. Anyone see our old friend Curtis Lazar get launched over the boards into the bench by Tom Wilson? What a hit.
  7. Watching TB-FL right now, and caught bits of VGK-Wild and Isles-Pens earlier. Boy, I just can't picture the Sabres playing this physical brand of playoff hockey as currently constituted. Is there a whole line that would be out there mixing it up in front of the net, face-washing guys? I want names. We are soooooo far away from this.
  8. Terry and Kim, if you’re out there lurking, and to the guys in the FO, behind the bench, and on the roster, remember what the great Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys once said: “Beware the lollipop of mediocrity; lick it once and you’ll suck forever.” Go Sabres!!!
  9. Should they do one of those things like when a position player pitches in a blowout baseball game? Just for yuks.
  10. So it sounds like you have a foolproof plan for them to make it to the Cup if they get rid of Jack. Let's hear it. There's a lot of in-between. Duh.
  11. Apparently you didn't watch them against the Isles recently.
  12. Love Sam's offensive talent but he is soft as baby sh*t.
