Ducks were allowed to skate free today… No physicality by our team… Checking was spotty and almost never finished a check to send a message… “You’re gonna have to earn it!”… Seems our bunch prefer glancing blows and banging into the boards for the sound effect… Like going to the net, you’d expect playing physical and finishing checks would be habits after half the season… Granato says it’s a process they are still learning… I say bunk… It’s not that complicated… It’s a choice.. What he should be saying is “If you don’t play the right way, you sit.” There are several skaters who should be rotating into the press box for a few games…

Dahlin tossed his stick in the air on the last penalty call… Still a post adolescent… Years away from Captain caliber… We only have a few grown men on the team… None of them showed up today … The rest are post adolescents and young men… Adams needs to fix this in the off season… Bring in a few hard-nosed warriors who know how to win. Agree and said so in a post on the game day thread early yesterday morning… Whoever spoke to Harrington didn’t have the backbone to go on the record… Why not?… Afraid his teammates would be upset with him for making their boycott public?… Doubt the fans would have singled him out for spilling the beans… He did the club and the fans a service, imo… Daylight kills virus. Fact is Okposo participated… Tells me either he was in agreement with the boycott… or, if not, wasn’t able to convince his teammates to not do it… Either way, KO failed as a Captain… Makes it easier to understand the dysfunction of the team… As an aside, KA must be disappointed as well given his focus on character… Guessing he has already addressed it with the team.

Call me old school, but this home victory salute boycott is disappointing on so many levels… Now that this team protest against the fans is public knowledge, don’t see how KA and DG can sanction Okposo as Captain… His participation is the antithesis of leadership… He should step aside voluntarily, but doubt he will… Suppose the rationale for allowing him to continue as Captain is it is the player’s choice, not management’s. Disappointed in KO… What a dysfunctional outfit… There is toxin in the locker room… KA needs to excise it.

Idk who the anonymous player is who spoke with Harrington about the teams recent anger at fans… Whoever it is lacks the backbone to go on the record criticizing fans who are booing poor performances at home… and those chanting for Granato to be fired… If players don’t like the fan reaction, players can decide among themselves to compete hard every night at home, not just some nights… Too often this season the team quit when we got behind early in a game… Fans hate quitters… It was noted the other night by their coach the Florida Panthers players are accountable to themselves… He pointed to their physicality and the fact their players finish every check and go hard to the net… Our players could learn by Florida’s example… As for Adams and Granato, they own the team they put on the ice… Youth and experience aside, attitude is everything, and the fact the players chose to not celebrate a win at home with their fans without prompting speaks worlds about their attitude… This is a leadership issue… GM, Head Coach, and Captain… If players believe there is no need for leadership changes, it is on them to perform for their leaders and their fans. Grow up, boys.
