Ducks can end this now by including Zegras. Win-win for both teams. Package behind it doesn't even need to be crazy.
As far as 'pressure to get this done. Jack is impatient'. ***** Jack. He made this bed, he can wait.

Starting to wonder if Adams isn't pricing himself out of the possible markets. LA is apparently out, now Columbus is out, so Anaheim? Maybe Vegas bowing out to Montreal peaks their interest in a change/addition.
Columbus never had a chance, so no concern there. There's no realistic package I would've liked from them.
L.A. is a wildcard, so who knows. Vegas losing is definitely to our advantage. Anaheim I'm sure is still very much in it. There's likely 2-3 other teams in this no one has talked about.
I'm glad Adams hasn't accepted the first volley. I'm sure ANA is trying to get away with pick 3 as the centerpiece, while keeping Zegras. I want Adams to fight for the right return. He has leverage on ANA. They aren't getting another shot at Eichel after this summer.

I haven't mocked much for the off-season yet. Still waiting on this Eichel trade to know where we even start from.

Will happily take Power #1 overall.

I'd rather keep Sam, but if we're at the (understandable) point of no return, I'd like to end the cycle of getting lowballed.

I had no idea Florida was this good.

We've all seen Jack have his tantrums. We're seeing similar reactions out of Dahlin too. IMO allowing Jack to have those tantrums and project to the kids that this behavior is tolerated is very bad. I do think very much that Jack is in the wrong headspace to captain another batch of kids. If they truly do want to move on with another youth movement he absolutely has to go IMO.
Agree with this assessment; just adding that they have to maybe pretend outwardly that they're fine with Eichel returning, so they don't get owned in a trade, again.

"Quinn cracks the lineup first but Peterka is better long term"
I agree with that.

Those highlights are all solid.
I'd add that when asked about Eichel, it was just boring company line stuff, didn't show hand either way.
Did not like the POHO idea though, so great. Another Pittsburgh Jason wants direct access to the Pegulas. This worked so well last time.

I agree with the title, especially under Granato.

Jack has never been told no by this organization. He's been the king since day 1, without really earning it. "Jack needs to look out for Jack" is the perfect quote I'll remember him by during his time here. It was always about him, never about the Sabres.
I've made peace with trading Eichel. I was considering it well before Monday anyways.
You have to get a premium asset back though. No Turcottes, Kakko's, mid-1sts.
Zegras, Byfield, Lafreniere, Krebs. Get one in a package, and move on with that.

Missed the beginning due to connection problems. Did anyone ask if KA talked to the Pegulas about Eichel, and what their views are on his comments and medical wishes?
No Pegula questions, and I wanted a few (their reaction to Eichel stuff, PoHO/staffing)

I really didn't think anything Adams said was that bad. I was certainly listening for things that would make me mad 😂
Unprompted praise of the Pegula's bothered me. Felt company-line. The Pegula's deserve 0 praise for anything Sabres related right now. Instead, they deserve blame for not putting enough experience between them and important hockey decisions.

Adams talking about going over things with ownership makes me want to barf.
I hope he saved the toughest questions of all for Terry and Kim.

Shame about the owners...

I want Granato to be the coach. He has his finger on the pulse in the best way.

The main event arrives.
Adams should come out to Stone Cold's music.

This will be unliked, and criticized, but there is a path where Adams says 'f*** it', keeps Eichel AND Reinhart.
Skinner Eichel Bjork
Olofsson Reinhart Cozens
Asplund Mittelstadt Thompson
Girgensons Boyd Ruotsalainen
Dahlin Jokiharju
Nemeth Borgen
Sameulsson Miller
Fleury
Luukkonen
Okposo Sheahan Bryson
Send Risto to Seattle
Deal for Fleury
UFA to a defensive center (Travis Boyd) and a bot-4 LD (Patrick Nemeth)
High risk, and could come with losing some trades later, but in the short term, you chase for the playoffs with Mitts, Dahlin, Joki, Cozens, and try to give them that experience, with unquestionably the best center spine we've had since 2007.- 1

Because the guy coached multiple teams for years and almost never missed the playoffs, something this fetid tub of dogshit organization hasn't even done once in a decade. He's as close to a Barry Trotz (remember how he got tagged as a "playoff loser" for years until he wasn't?) as we are going to get.
Loved the Boudreau idea pretty much from the start. I'd do it for sure.
Post Eichel/Reinhart-bomb though, passing on to the next gen does make Granato slightly more tempting...

Whenever the Sabres suffered a big loss the last few years, I'd sometimes go down a mental rabbit hole of 'what's the worst case scenario for the Sabres'. It's always kind of comforting, because it's usually so ridiculous, that it can't possibly come true.
Yesterday proved me wrong. It can.

Nice Eichel trade. Krebs would be on my list of assets to target. Glass is a great grab too.
