  1. Depressingly Buffalo fan like.

Take a look at the old eichel thread. many people was asking what is wrong with him, or he needs to shoot more, he is not working hard. or he had a poor attitude, breaking sticks, etc. it was only in the early of december when he got the hat trick that he really started to play well. before that he was average at best

  2. Definitely my most hated one. They've made me completely dismiss another entire season, and I've just become apathetic to them. The Sabres are literally ruining hockey for me

this was happening for me to. i jumped ship. i now follow the wild, but keep an eye on the sabres. I decided i will never go back to them full time though, win or lose. hockey is my favorite sport and i refuse to let a poorly managed, terribly played team ruin it for me.

watching the wild introduced a whole new breath of life into hockey for me. win or lose, they play to win every night. its amazing to watch a team that gives a hoot.

  3. Not sure there's anything JBott can do if Lehner is on IR. I would think Ullmark would be right pissed if they called up any goaltender except for him. I'm really rooting for this guy but if he gets lit up I don't see any other move JBott could have made.

i would be concerned the sabres horrible defense would stand around enjoying their easy bake ovens instead of playing defense and ullmark gets toasted and loses confidence.

  4. the biggest problem i see, line in and out, there is not someone camped in front of the goalie distracting them and popping in the rebounds and trash. i think there should be 1 person tickling the goalie, telling him a joke or talking about the weather at all times in the offensive zone.

reinhart does it on the power play when he is in, but it should be all the time.

  5. Other than the 3rd period and ot of the Classic, I haven't seen a game in 3 weeks.

I refuse to go to games and take the kids so I don't even tell them when they play. This whole thing is unwatchable and forgettable

i mentioned in a prior post on this thread. i have basically stopped rooting for the sabres. i have been a fan of the sabres since around 1993 when i first started to watch hockey and between this season where everyone seems to have given up on trying and the tank season, that i cant support this team anymore. i realized it when i had a ticket to a flyers/sabres game in a luxury box and at game day i made every excuse of why not to go. I will always be a fan of the sabres deep down, but win or lose, i will not pay to watch their games anymore.

That being said, hockey is still my favorite sport, so I have been following the wild very closely for several weeks. this game was really an eye opener for me. i noticed right away that everyone on the sabres were just standing around and the wild were doing as they pleased. Nobody crashed the goal, nobody kicked anyone of from camping in front of the goal to stop redirects and rebounds. i always blamed lehner, and i still do, but there is not a single person on this team besides kane and sometime eichel that should be on this team next season. (i think eichel pouts too much too and quits like the others)

In the 3rd quarter the wild basically backed off to keep from running up the score any higher and the 2 goals were junk goals because nobody cared anymore.

i hate to say it, but the entire sabres org should be ashamed of themselves to where they let this team become. its sad

  6. I heard Rob Ray’s comments to the effect that PH consciously chose a shiny, happy, positive approach with his team — going to bat for them publicly despite struggles. That’s his philhousley (philosophy), evidently.

I’m not sure we’ll get to see if that philhousley coild ever achieve positive results with this squad.

    participation trophy?

  7. i was looking for one of the fanatics jersey, but the one i want is out of stock in my size. does anyone know if they typically restock during the season or do i have to wait until the start of next season

i tried to contact them but they said they didnt know stock status refills

i know this is a shot in the dark here, but i am hoping someone knows the answer

  8. Wth?  If Ek isn't coming back, sorry.  Stalock was cannon fodder in the offseason of 2016.   This is utterly terrible.

I'm for any of these honestly.

i can honestly say i have no idea what you are trying to say here. i am not sure where errikson-Ek came into this, but the wild are not going to be traded errikson-Ek. he is just starting to get time and the coach really loves him and he is getting the time to prove it. i can honestly not speak to stalock 2016, but this season stalock had been filling in for dubnyck since he got a lower body injury. stalock has been nuts for them. he faced off against some of the best teams in the league and did everything he could to keep them in or win games. i have watched a lot of the wild games lately, and he is really good. i think he is going to be traded because he is way too too good to be a backup.

yes, kane is incredible, but he is a half season rental. unless they get an agreement that long term negotiations can happen for the trade approval. getting a great goalie and a first or second round is not a bad trade for a half season rental.

  9. And still Sabres has only scored 86 goals this season, pretty much says it all doesnt it.

Lehner is no superstar that can win tons of games for a pretty much dead team, but he sure as hell would have kept us in the leap for playoffs.

I dont like Lehner that much either, but he is not the biggest issue here.

lehner is not the only issue. there are so many issues. he is however one of the many issues. i think their biggest issue is a lack of a team leader that will get on them to not give up. too many times they have given up a second goal and they give up. their shoulders hunch down and the slow down on their skating and just look beaten.  they dont have anyone that will step up and be the leader the team needs.

i think they though that would be oreilly, but really he is not.

  10. i swore i would stop commenting on lehner because he is the goalie until he isnt. however, the biggest problem with lehner is that he will give up any shot not directly hit at him where most of the other goalies will not give it up. he relies on his size to block as much of the net as possible, which works most of the time. people say he is giving up the soft goal, which is true, but those soft goals are typically shots from deep over his glove or blocker. he cant catch up to it. he doesnt collect many rebounds which gives a lot of second chance shots. i safely assume most break-aways will be a goal.

The scoring is also affected by the lack of quality of the goaltender as well. you may have noticed, the sabres did not have many points by defense and if i remember correctly, no goals by the defense until just recently. they are unable to go deep in the scoring area because they need to be back quickly, i believe because they dont trust that lehner will be able to bail them out.

I am not saying lehner is garbage, he is night and day better than johnson. he has respectable stats, and i think he would be better on a more defensive minded team.

yes, the sabres defense has a lot to be desired, but between that poor goaltending and the poor defense, the sabres are always battling back.

i also noticed the sabres as a whole, often seem to give up when they get behind. i feel they dont have a clear leader on the team that will help motivate them to not give up.

i honestly think if the sabres got a better goaltender and a solid veteran leader defenseman, they would be a much better team.
