Cardiac arrest can also be intertwined with respiratory arrest, the heart may have been restarted (it sounds like) but his body still hasn't recovered breathing on his own.

I tend to think a carotid or spinal injury would not allow him to have stood up and collapse like that.

A Tension pneumothorax from a direct blow is a small possibility that caused cardiac injury. It's just so hard to say without being there.

Being intubated and in critical condition is no joke and I'm so happy the NFL is postponing it for the evening.

At first, I thought it could be a dissection or something- but he wouldn't have regained a pulse thereafter, correct? (I'm not a doctor, just have them in the family...)

I was driving and listening to the game, man, it sounded quite boring on the radio. Idk if Dan didn't have it, or if the team gave him nothing to get excited over. At least last night he appeared into it over radio.

Woulda been nice to get a point (or 2)against a lesser team, but we seem to do this to ourselves at times.

I think Dan was just a bit tired from 3 games in 4 nights 😛

But seriously, the game had plenty of exciting moments. We did come pretty close to tying it up a few times.

I’ve witnessed Casey make 3 absolutely boneheaded plays this period that lead directly to turnovers and scoring chances for the other teams.  He plays dumb.  Constantly making plays that hurt his team.

His play strikes me as being too "cute;" he has good hands, but is not strong on the puck and coughs it up easily, and doesn't have a sense of when he does/doesn't have someone covering for him (a sense of when he could get away with a cute move)

That was as lame as it could be and is a perfect example of why you need a guy that can fight.

What should have been two guys in the box, each five for fighting, and Boston with an added 2 for goalie interference, leading to a Sabres 5 on 3, ended up just a continuation of our power play. Awesome.

No, it would have been Sabres shorthanded: 2 for instigating, and 2 for roughing, with Boston just 2 for interference

Edit: And then being down 1-0 during the Boston PP. I don't think that would have taught them not to run our goalie

Comrie has been hung out more IMO, and doesn’t have the same experience as Andy. Andy won’t be back next year, per 32 Thoughts w Elliott Friedman pod I listened to today. I want to see Comrie backing up this group. Not saying he’s the man, but….still, Comrie deserves a shot. His analytics (why Sabres went after him) say he’s better than he’s been able to show. Just sayin. Next year hopefully UPL & Comrie (maybe this year w Andy in reserve, pending Comrie health & UPL play).

I think Comrie has some things really going for him. He's got great movement and can anticipate plays. That's be swell if he could put it all together.

Comrie (was it Edmonton?) and Anderson (1st game) each had one great game. Add UPL to the list. Now, for some consistency, please.

Comrie should move much better laterally -- he's 6'1" 175# to UPL's 6'5" 217#. But, UPL shouldn't be sliding around as much with that frame, he's already there.

Very pleased with his game tonight. Now, how will he handle teams after they get a dozen games of video on him... this is where the fun begins.

    Different styles.

Comrie needs to move laterally because he is smallish.

UPL doesn’t because he fills up the net.

I don't mean to be a downer, because it was a great game, but I saw UPL's lateral movement as being not sufficient to start in the NHL. On more than one occasion tonight, he got lucky when a shooter either half-whiffed or hit the side of the net (when Comrie or not-tired Anderson would have been there). I don't think his size will cover that up once the book is out on him.

    I hope I'm wrong!
