Yeah that was how Jack started and soon he wanted out...the endless cycle of losing obviously gets to a player and he loses his sense of why they even play the sport. Clearly losing is not fun and wears on a guys mind to the point where they just need OUT. Dahlin will no doubt be next... rinse and repeat over and over again

This is sad, but it is coming unless major changes are made for next season with goaltending and grit with skill.

I did not like the Thompson line. We basically had Greenway as a third liner with arguably our best forward. Makes no sense.

Some quick thoughts in this game. I thought Mitts was our best player in this game.

I thought Buffalo outplayed Columbus offensively. We doubled their shots.

Their goalie who was at first shaky, he tightened up and kept his team in the game. This was a back to back game for them. I sensed they lost steam and were holding on for dear life.

    UPL was solid.

    Quinn seems back to form.

Considering how we outplayed Columbus offensively, it would have been demoralizing if we would have lost this game.

This was a fast paced game with few penalties. It seems that the replacement HC is in sync with the sick HC from a style of play approach.

This game will have little meaning if we don't win tomorrow.

    To the bold

Really?!?!? UPL let in 2 goals on 20 shots in regulation.

To contrast BJ's goalie only let in 2 goals on 40 shots in regulation. We had a lot of point blank chances where he made great saves so we can't say, well our defense was bad in front of UPL so he didn't have a chance. No he needs to make more saves

  3. The length of this thread tells you all you need to know.

No one doubts he wants to win. But how serious is he really. No real additions in this past off season. Not even gonna start about the goalie thingy.

Anyone serious about winning is willing to make changes when needed, not late or maybe never in KA's instance.

I think it isn't just one or two players, its a team wide/organization wide thing:

-Okposo...hes a 'vet' but he makes plenty of mistakes in his own zone.  Leaves open areas, doesn't know where to go. He never has played for a team in his career that excelled defensively.

-Peterka, Benson and Krebs do a lot of 'stick waving' They could engage people more than they do.

-Cozens.  Probably the worst player at abandoning his man and leaving wide open areas of the ice for opposing players to walk in, just so he chases the puck. I know others love him, but He might be in the bottom 10% of players who know how to play in the defensive zone.

-Mitts has gotten better, but he still does a lot of stick waving. Skinner likes to hang around the blue line and not go in too deep to help.  Tuch and Thompson have good games and bad games.

The only person I rarely see out of position, rarely leaving his side of the ice wide open to chase a puck is Girgensons.  But a lot of people want him off this team for whatever reason, even though he might be the single one, the only sound forward on this team in his own end.

To the bold. He can't score. He brings almost zero offense. He has 2 goals and 0 assists in 20 games.

But he's a positive influence on Power and Dahlin  lol

scary part of this season the D is basically Dahlin and a bunch of guys who play is at best 3rd pair

power and Samuelson should be relegated to bottom pair but there is no one to take their place in the top 4

that's Adams issue to resolve immediately

To the bold.    Yeah.... Good luck with that.

Is Skinner ready to play tomorrow night?

The real question facing this team is why they simply don’t care to put in the effort needed to win.

Here you have a team coming off 3 good performances with the return of 3 key players in Mule, Tuch and UPL plus a big night for FA signee EJ against his old team, a team we beat 4-0 last time we played them.  Add their coaches family situation and the team should have come flying out of the dressing room.  Instead they slept for the 1st 17 minutes of the game and were consequently blown out.

Given the number of flat starts and that the few times they come to play follow being embarrassed (like the 2nd period), I’m rapidly moving to the fire DG camp. Enough.

To the underlined. I am there after last night's game.  KA has to go as well. He's half the problem. Not bringing in the right player's during past off-seasons. All He's been doing is bargin basement hunting. And still no true number one goalie after how many years, I've lost track.
