  1. We are probably saying the same thing. Goals are reviewed. High stick goals are reviewed. Kicks are reviewed. The need for a challenge on an off side is probably specious at best. But that's the rule. And they got it right in this case.

No, the play continues until,a,whistle score. Same in both cases. Someone upstairs looks at the video and sees ob/offsides. The whistle hasn't blown play hasn't stopped in either case. Same thing.

And I'm saying that because of the nature of hockey, and the continuation of play through changes of possession, that drives in the NFL are more like possessions in hockey.
  2. Theybwere offside. The linesman missed it. The Sabres scored. Huge advantage Sabres. The challenge clearly showed a whistle should have blown. It is no different than a runner steeping ob on a long td. But for a missed call no td. Same thing here.

No eliminate a challenge of a missed off sides. I have no problem eliminating it. But that is the rule and it was a good challenge.

It would actually be more like reviewing something a few plays earlier in a scoring drive.
  3. Getting ready to watch pregame, and granddaughter asks if she can watch Frozen on the big TV. ........Now I am digging for those headphones so I don't have to hear the crying "Grandpa won't watch frozen..." She'll get over it - her mother would rather watch the game, too!

I'm on a business trip, and I planned on sitting in the hotel room and watching the game. My boss just told me he made dinner reservations for 8 o'clock. I hate myself.
  4. I have decided drnkirishone won the contest but he will be unable to accept tickets and apparently has no one he wants to give them to. Therefore, I am initiating a secondary contest. Pick a player you think will be surprise to make the team out of camp and through first month of season.

Winner gets two tickets to game and if the player plays the entire season making a major contribution, winner will get two playoff tickets to first playoffs Sabres make and an autographed jersey of said player.

Just name the player and tell us why you think he is the one and what you expect him to contribute.

One disclaimer, while on season tickets will be my own prime seats, the playoff tickets will be somewhere in FNC and jersey will not be game worn.

Two questions: is this open to everybody, or just those who participated in the original contest?

Also, is Cal O'Reilly basically written off as a Rochester player? If so, I pick him. If so, I'll say that Bylsma is impressed with his compete and he sneaks into the big club, helping out on the fourth line.

  5. I'll just say that Xanadu... especially the intro... was by far my favorite part. Also, wouldn't have guessed it, but Lakeside Park was the one stuck in my head this morning.

Jacobs Ladder just blew me away. That show was the perfect blend of deeper cuts and hits that you wanted to hear one last time before they ride off into the sunset.
