  1. ROR-Eichel-Okposo

Jack needs to be with top wingers. ROR takes defensive zone draws allowing Eichel to grab the puck and startbtge transition out of the zone. This line combo also should dramatically improve 5v5 scoring

Kane-Reinhart-Bailey/Baptiste who ever wins the job out of camp

Reinhart returns to his natural position with two speedy wingers

    Pouliot-Larsson-Pominville

Pouliot and Pommers drive possession, something the Sabres third line has not done in a while

    Girgensons-Josefson-Fasching

    Scandella-Risto

    Beaulieu-Antipin

    McCabe-Bogo

    Lehner/Johnson

Moulson or D-Lo and Gorges extra

    ^This is where I'm at.

  2. Agree with this. Sam needs to be a center, and O'reilley at wing. This is the best configuration for the long term and there is no evidence to suggest it is not the correct one. It has been the stubbornness of Bylsma that has prevented this playing out. The time to make this move is now. Eichel with O' Reilly on his wing would be a dymamic combination. Sam with Okposo would be also a potentially great alignment. Beyond that, I would hope that some combination of Bailey, Baptiste, or Fasching can step up to one or two of the left wing roles. I like Kane with Larson and Foligno on a third line. Ennis is the piece that does not fit right now and I have no confidence that he can be effective in the top six.

^This all day and twice on Sunday.

  3. You're BANNED!!!! RoR is much better all around hockey player than Reino and has much more time to have shown it. Not diminishing from Reino at all but I have to disagree on your apparent value of RoR.

I agree with you at this time RoR is better, but within a year or two that won't be the case. Granted Reino will never be as defensively sound as RoR, but his point production as the years go on will out way RoR' s defensive ability IMO.

  4. ROR is our best centre. Eichel is better offensively but no where near as good defensively. Reinhart is worse both offensively and defensively. He may (and probably will) improve, but that doesn't mean there is space for him

    60 point ROR > 70 Reinhart

Probably be banned from this site for saying this, but I don't give two craps about RoR. If he is unwilling to be put on Jack's wing then trade him! The future of the Sabres is Jack and Reino, not Jack and RoR.

  5. I've seen some promote Reinhart for Hanifin.

Someone, anyone, convince me one way or the other.

It's Kane for Hanifin, for me. It's like people forgot about all the pain and suffering we went through just to have the right to draft Reino. At the very least the kid has proven to be a 50point scorer, while playing in a crap system and out of position. Furthermore, once the kid is put back into his natural position, which on this team should be second line center, there is no reason Reino shouldn't become a 60 - 80 point guy. I'm not sacrificing Reino just so RoR can stay at 1c, when he should be on Jack's wing.

  6. I wonder..... that would put Jack and ROR together on the #1 line?

Didn't read what you guys were talking about, but after Jack's rookie year they should of always been on the same line together. IMO, RoR is meant to be Jack's winger, along with Okposo or one of the young kids. Leaving Reinhart as 2c, Kane as his LW, and one of Okposo or the young kids to round out the second line.

  7. For me personally, until RoR is on Eichel' s wing, this team will not live up to its potential. My top two lines would look something like this RoR/ Eichel/ Bailey, second line would be Kane/ Reino/ Okposo. If JBOT finds a better option than Bailey, I'm fine with that, I just really liked the way Bailey played at the end of the season and think he would be a great fit with Eichel.

  8. And as the clock strikes midnight, we have 89 more days to wait. 717c8575ee16bd489dd0ec9386126993.jpg

As a Floridian, I started watching the Sabres because my mom was from Buffalo and I wasn't that big a fan of the Florida teams. The first season I watched the Sabres, Alexander had his 76goal season. From there he quickly became my all time favorite player and the Sabres became my team for life.

  9. Gorges and Gionta are on the last year of their deals and out of respect will be on the roster this year. Franson is also one and done and I think most likely a trade candidate in the right situation. The next two years will see an influx of 2-4 of those young players u mentioned IMO

Didn't realize those three are in the last year of their contracts, that's great news. Honestly, I think Bailey and Hudson are ready this year but do to lack of room will spend the season in Rochester. The only reason I would put Franson over Nelson is for trade value. So Franson can get his minutes and be dumped at the trade deadline. Nylander and Guhle are 2017-2018 candidates for sure. The only one I really question about being on this team within two years is Carrier.
