Johnson and John Gibson in goal tonight, Byslma says look for Ennis on Saturday
Look for him where? To be offside on a critical goal? Or is that Gionta's job now?
-
Weber is not playing tonight? We need our commander to finish this game six points behind Arizona.
-
I'm so ready for Gionta to be off the top 6 and Eichels line. He ruins every play by just giving away the puck instantly
I think Gionta must have a clause in his contract where he gets paid more to play on the bottom 6 or sits during key situations. I have no other explanation as to why he gets so many important minutes.

Fast forward four years from next June. The KeyBank Arena crowd stands as one as the Conn Smythe Trophy is delicately placed on the table. Then the chant begins. YEI-CHEL! YEI-CHEL! YEI-CHEL! YEI-CHEL! YEI-CHEL! YEI-CHEL! YEI-CHEL! YEI-CHEL!
By then, I hope RJ has been retired for a few years and Yeichel has been erased from the lexicon.
-
"Now that's a Yeichel?" You gotta be friggin' kidding me. Come on Rick.
-
Johnson first off. He is your starter tonight
Confucious say, "If Johnson gets off first, wife left unsatisfied."
-
As I said in the GDT thread, he just doesn't own it. Can you imagine a low, half-hearted Lalalalalala-fontaine?
Maybe he is starting to wane on his excitement for this ridiculous moniker. One can only hope.
-
For a second, I didn't think RJ was going to say it tonight. He did and my annoyance was rejuvenated. I'm more annoyed with the current outcomes, but "Yeichel" sounds even that much worse in a loss.
-
Could Cellino and Barnes possibly say cheesier things than they do?
How about Cellino says, "I sure love Sabres hockey." Barnes then goes, "Sustained." They then look at each other and have stupid grins on their face.
-
Is Ennis too used to being "the guy" that he doesn't understand how to be a complimentary player?
-
Eichel was a hibachi chef in front of Ullmark in overtime. Then Gionta showed the hands of an old arthritic butcher.
is Gionta allowed an oxygen tank in a 3 on 3 situation?
-
I think making Ennis a healthy scratch for at least one is needed. He just looks lost.

At least the challenge didn't have that big of an effect on the outcome of the game. It's not like we tied it against one of the best teams in the league and had all that momentum grinded to a halt. Oh crap, that's what did happen. I honestly think if we went offside there and Dallas scored a shortie soon after, we should have the right to challenge our own offside. I haven't looked into the challenge system enough to see if this even a possibility.
-
I guess I overdid the "be" a tad.
-
Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, he be young and his shot be sick.

Rick should read this thread and see how unpopular Yeichel is. I hope he's still in touch with the common man and realizes it's a bad call and abandon it.
I don't think he cares. The common thought on here is that he messed up the call on Jack's first goal. He stuck with it and even delivered it with tons of pizzazz on the last call.
-
Does LBI in his case stand for "lackadaisical brain-fart inopportunely" or "limited by inability"?
-
I loved seeing a goal without a "Yeichel" in tow. How did the radio call sound?
-
My original post was a joke. I give Weber credit for nothing. I just want him off the ice.
What if Weber gets boarded on his first shift and the other team's best player gets 5 and a game misconduct? Is it worth it then to have him play?
-
I'm willing to give Weber credit for fighting. It's the only positive thing he does... Mainly the part where it takes him off the ice for five minutes.
I couldn't agree more. It also takes someone off on the other team for 5 minutes that has much more skill than the aformentiomed Michael Weber.
-
I still think it's pretty bad. The over enthusiastic Yeichel is almost worse in my book. Check back in 10 more goals or so and I'll let you know if I'm jumping aboard the Yeichel locomotive.Maybe the delivery had to be better. It's growing on me!
I swear, Rick (and Jack) will make us love this.
-
Even though I super-loathe the Yeichel, I have a strong feeling I'm going to hear it tonight.
-
You know, I happened to watch his first (regular season) goal again. And while I didn't notice it the first time, it's painful to listen to now.
Each subsequent call is just as painful, possibly worse.
-
If this doesn't warrant its own topic or is being discussed elsewhere, please feel free to delete. After hearing it again tonight, I get the sense "Yeichel" is here to stay. I know it shouldn't bother me so much, but it just does. As I stated in the GDT, I love RJ as much as anyone else. Yeichel just makes absolutely no sense to me and sounds weirder and weirder every time. There have been so many other nicknames proposed on here involving "Jack" that would be so much more appropriate. If I'm fortunate enough to hear Yeichel 30-40 times this year, I'll probably be so happy that I won't really care. For now, it's just not my bag.

I just finished watching the game and I had a few points. Who is this Kezler fella playing for Anaheim? Also, Brian Gionta is bad at the hockey.
