He would have got Kane straight upThat is probably true. I am a little disappointed in the Stewart return but I don't believe DR would have gotten us more.
Talbot for caron
-
Have we got details on the Mitchell trade yet? What round and what prospect?
-
Horrible return!
It came down to the wire, I was afraid of a 3rd or 4th.
-
Stewart to Minnesota for a 2017 2nd
-
OK so now we can think about resigning Stewart?
No, he's gone, we might resign him in the off-season
-
Where did Stewart go??
-
People think that Defenseman is going to jump right into this lineup if we pick 3. Yeah if he stood out in WJC but he didn't and I thought their were better defense on Team USA before him.
Yeah, I don't think his the same caliber as Ekblad
-
He's not running Arizona per se, more like he's infected Arizona.
Hence all the amputation.
-
I highly doubt it. He didn't stand out in WJC and defense is alot tougher to play in the NHL.
I'd have him in the A a year.

Islanders acquire Tyler Kennedy from sjs
Tyler Kennedy traded to the New York Islanders for a conditional pick
Good thing I didn't put details to follow. I'll justquit posting trades haha

I would be thrilled to have the consolation prize. I'm all in for the big 2. Don't need another defenseman at 3. Marner is alittle on the same size and Strome is probably another 2 years away.
Forsure, I'm with ya. Any of the top 5 you have to be thrilled. Just less thrilled then McDavid. I see it like Crosby Malkin. Pumped with either, but obviously hoping for Crosby.
-
While the extra 6.5% chance at McDavid is nice, it's the extra 66.5% chance of getting McDavid or Eichel that I'm aiming for.
Eichel to me is just a reminder that we missed out, though he is quite the consolation prize.

Neuvirth to Edmonton, the other 2 to Arizona. I'd throw in a couple 2nds to sweeten the deal aswell.
Nice sending all three to AZ?
-
Yeah I know, the only good thing is that Dave Tippet will still have his players playing hard until the end.
I'm with you
That's the way I'm looking at it, anything else is an added bonus.
-
Stewart traded to whoever for 100 pucks and a shooting machine for goalie's
How about this: Stewart, Neuvirth, and Mitchell traded for a 20% chance at McDavid.
-
but it gave me a good excuse to quote The Princess Bride so win.
There you have it, the day was a success after all.
-
Haha, yeah. Realized he threw that in his post
-
And we have a trade folks, Ben Smith to San Jose for Andrew Desjardins
-
Why is darcy getting so much credit around here? He's a glorified scout. Unless you read this board, we make him sound like the VP of hockey operations. Surely he's in everyones ear planting seeds for tank ideas! Surely he's behind it all!
Horse ######!
A bubble team hires Darcy, soon after sells assets(for great value) and start dropping inthe standings and you think he doesn't have anything to do with it? Seriously?

Denis Wideman may be about to be dealt, being asked to waive his NTC
That was just Hartley having some fun with the media as per tsn
-
I will admit it as much as I want to see our UFA's gone that I just have a feeling that many teams aren't interested in most of our guys. Lets face it besides Stewart and Nievirth I wouldn't want any of the others if I were a GM. So it wouldn't surprise me at the end of the day that all are still here.
Those are the only two I care about getting moved. I think that some teams will come to us for some cheap depth also. Much like Montreal did
-
Apparently there have been more trades so far today than there have been at the deadline before noon since 2010.
With 2010 having a record breaking 31 trades, that's a fun fact.

That's not getting it done. Boston refused to include their first for Vermette... So that package might land their first but not Subban AND their first. Make it that plus the later first we have left and it might be there.
Tough to say, let's say Boston wins the cup, that first they gave us would be 1 pick beforethe 2nd we gave them(assuming the tank pulls through), so it would basically be Stewart and a 2nd for Subban. Considering what goalies have been going for that would be a decent offer. However that's a lot of ifs.
Murray will want to keep the lower 1st we have and package it with Zadorov and Grigorenko to make a play at O'Reilly
Recently read an article saying Sakic intended on extending O'Reilly this summer, that's no guarantee though. I would like to hang onto that 1st though, this is a deep draft year
-
You are assuming two things which I think are wrong.
1) That Vermette had the same value to Boston, as not only Chicago but also Stewart
2) That Stewart's value hasn't changed since most players are no longer on the board anymore to be traded.
Stewart is now the best rental forward on the market, if Boston doesn't acquire Atkinson I could see them having to pay our price
Trade Deadline 2015 (March 2nd, 3 p.m.)
