I was really down Bryson earlier this year but he's been valuable depth. I'm not sure he's a long term NHLer but he's nice to have on the bench and play 20-40 games a year.
If they can sign him to a 2-way, sure. I'd have Joker at 7th D. Either can slot for injuries as required.

UPL kept us in the game there. So many boneheaded, lackadaisical plays made that I lost count watching the highlight reel. Cozens and EJ on the first Stars goal, Okposo and Power (on the second); all not knowing where they are or where they are supposed to be.
TT, Skinner, Benson, Dahlin, and Cozens all making Oettinger's highlight reel shine with blocker saves.
Not a good show by the swords.

This team lacks checking, grit, and presence. We need guys who can take hits, and more importantly, dish out punishment night after night.
I like Xhejak, Zadorov, Clutterbuck, Jeannot, Aciarri, (dare I say) Lucic/Wilson type players. Some real mean m-fers.
We have the offensive talent. What we need is to make other teams fear playing in our end and on the backcheck.

A Mitts signing would mark the end of the core building.
- i.e Dahlin, Power, UPL, Levi, TT, Mitts, Cozens, Tuch, JJP.
They must be frustrated after missing last year and sucking this year. A wild card finish is needed to get them team believing again. That will require the roster to be augmented significantly in the coming off-season.

Wouldn't we be better off with Thompson and Savoie? All three are scoring centres. Plus, Thompson is way lighter on the cap hit, and Drai will be a UFA.

Here's my KA wishlist:
1) sign a top 4 NHL Dman (~3 years)
- Ghost, Forsling, Hanifin, OEL, Skjei, Gustafsson, Tanev, Walker, DeMelo, Chycrun, Montour.
2) sign a backup to UPL (~2 years).
- Samsonov, Jones, Nedeljkovic, DeSmith, Campbell, Talbot, Quick.
3) Resign Mitts for <$7M/6 years.

The Habs are practically begging for a scoring forward. We have tons (VO, Krebs, Biro, Rosen, Rousek, Kulich, Savoie, Östlund).
They have 3 NHL goalies. We have only one in UPL.
It'd be a perfect win-win if we moved an F or two for Xhejak & Primeau.

Krebs + Biro for Xhejak + Primeau.
I like that because it puts pressure on the 7D spot, and the 1A/1B goalie spots. That would allow Levi to slide into Roch for the time being.

- Sign a UFA Dman (OEL, Forsling, Gustaffson, Walker, etc) in the offseason for term.
- Sign two vet UFA forwards (Monahan, Clutterbuck, etc).

Top pending UFA goaltenders, sorted by games played.
We need someone to backup for UPL. Levi needs to spend the entire upcoming season in Roch.
Could also take a shot at Jake Allen/Cayden Primeau.

I think we should take a shot at Habs D Arber Xhekaj. He is a real tough m-fer and could bring the compete out of RJ/Joker/Clifton.
Another option is Chycrun. Seems the Sens are entertaining offers and he is a solid NHL defenseman.

Can we afford Mitts? Yes, we can! The only RFAs that should return are UPL (I can't believe I'm typing that) and Mitts. The biggest expense, besides Mitts, facing the Sabres in the off-season will be getting a top 4 D. It looks to me like Ryan Johnson is working hard to secure one of the two spots. Odds also favor one of Savoie, Kulich and/or Rosen earning one of the forward slots.
All told with re-signing Mitts (6 for 6.5), Robinson (1 yr @ 1.1), UPL, (2 years @1.75), and Kulich (918K), that brings us to $73,731,088 for 18 players. The remaining roster holes are a 3/4 center, a top 4 D, a 12th/13th forward, and a 7th D.

Knowing KA, he'll re-sign Joki and Krebs and bring back an entire status-quo roster that is failing this season. Somebody who gives a darn about winning dumps those two and tries to actually improve the roster. The one thing he doesn't do is trade away his best forward from this season.
We have a lot of unproven, high caliber talent.
Add in some veteran grinders on the 4th line and keep the 3rd open for who's-next. Pick up a top-4D and a bottom-4D, and a rental goalie with our top picks and prospects.
Things might be sunnier than we are seeing this year.
