I guess if you love PBR, have at it. Besides, I thought this was Labatt Blue territory.

The Pegula's are as much the problem as Botterill and Murray were before them.  Coming off a career year Skinner deserved and got the contract he deserved.  However, the way that Krueger utilized him this season was absolutely a joke.  He should be playing with Jack, regardless.   In addition, I do believe that Botterill attempted to acquire a second line center and it just didn't work out in the cards based on offers at the deadline.  That being said, this team needs to jettison more players and clear out some of the flack.  I love Rasmus Ristolainen's game overall.  While he's got his warts, it's time to move him and go in a different direction.  Give the defense over to Dahlin and build from there.  The entire fundamental process needs to change.  In addition, stop trading draft picks for players who are well past their prime.  **Cough**  Wayne Simmonds.  **Cough** Michal Frolik.  I'm not sure what they need to do, but they need to be more creative.  I'm sure Botterill attempts to bring guys in from Europe, but they need to focus more on that, and start elevating the team up in different avenues similarly to how San Jose or Toronto does (with Russian players).  Which pains me to mention the Leafs in any high light.

We were a pansy team to begin with, losing Risto and Simmonds leaves us with no balls whatsoever.  We need some protection for Jack, Dahlin, Skinner, Olofsson.  Who do we get for that role?

I see that the other thread got locked (for good reason) so I'm just going to post this here.  I thought about just sending you a PM but after some consideration I figured I'd post it publicly.  I'm sorry that your wife has to deal with the ***** she does in this day and age.  It's inexcusable.  We're all human and we all deserve to be treated with respect but you know that as does she.  I can't change the minds of those that are set in their ways but I can mold my young childrens' minds to respect everyone regardless of differences and that's what my wife and I are doing.

Thanks, Indabuff., this post made my day.  It  may have made my year.  The kids are our future.  I'm inspired that you and your wife are building a finer generation with your kids.  Sincerely, thank you.

Were you a strip club manager because I'm struggling to figure out how that became an issue.

No, this was a professional office profession (not that I would have minded to work in a strip club in my 20's).  Several employees complained.  HR was, "Whatever you decide is fine with us."  Saying all this, my office of 12 was all female.  There may have been some shenanigans/jealousy/pettiness involved.  But I was 29.  I did the best I could.

So I had to come in early this morning and terminate an employee who didn't pass his 90 day review.  I noticed 5 minutes after that my Willy Wonka was catching a breeze.  I stood at the employee entrance while dozens of employees walked by with my bean bag exposed to the world.

I had to have a "counselling session" with a female employee who had an "aroma issue" from a sensitive area.  I was 29 years old at the time.  Most uncomfortable conversation of my career.  HR was of no use.  I'm grateful the conversation went well and I'm not in jail today.  But, if you've supervised people,  you can imagine how difficult it was to start that counselling session.  I'm glad I'm retired.

Pro tip. You can skip ahead. She is brutal.

She lost me at the Bruins shirt.  F'n Brad Park.  Never even got to 7 o'clock, let alone 11pm  (if you get my drift).

Hogan's Heroes is such a good show though. The humor really holds up, which can't be said for a lot of what came out of that era of comedy. And Klemperer's portrayal of Klink is top notch, which I think does a lot of the heavy lifting for the show.

Hogan's Heroes and Barney Miller were 2 of my favorite shows.  Both similar, ensemble casts, good writing and casting, and fine acting.

So looting and rioting somehow does?  Or does it just act as an easy excuse for criminals to engage in criminal behavior under the guise of "protest"?

It does.  Something has to promote/force change.  Nonviolence hasn't worked for 60 years.  60 YEARS.  Police continue to kill people of color. What's the alternative?  Negotiation is easier if you're not the skin color that's being killed by the police regularly.

Or black people are Ryan Miller, the police are Milan Lucic, and white people are the rest of the Sabres team.

I can't go there, pasta and I know this wasn't your intent.  My African American wife leaves the house and people give her the side-eye and lock their car doors on sight.  At the grocery store, she's asked if she's using food stamps even though we have ample means.  It's heartbreaking and sad.  One can hide their religion, their beliefs, their politics, their sexuality, but not the color of their skin.

  10. Since this is a hockey board, let me make this metaphor.  If you got consistently wrist hacked and cup checked for 60 years, 60 YEARS, and the referee did nothing (and in this case instigated it), at some point you would drop the gloves and say "OK, enough is enough, let's go".

The situations today are literally life or death.  What should we expect?  Calm, reasoned discussion?  It's been 60 years since the civil rights movement.  I don't condone but I understand the outrage.  60 years of discussion hasn't worked.  What will?  Another 60 years?  And how many more will die in those 60 years?  Babies are not born racist, they are taught.  When will this end?

It only takes a minute of googling to find images of Proud Boys and Boogaloo Bois in those riots as well.  Note the Igloo patches,  Hawaiian shirts, and white supremacy hand signs.  Look up Boogaloo to get the significance of the patches and shirts.  Don't pretend that the far right isn't well represented in the chaos here.  You can bet their aim is destabilization too.  Boogaloo is shorthand for civil war 2 afterall.

This is the 21st Century, right?  In America, right?

  12. I'm emotionally invested in this topic so I apologize for the many posts.  The civil rights movement was 60 years ago.  I'll be dead, but what happens in another 60 years from now if nothing changes.  That's 120 years.  Who will stop ‘this madness’?  if not us, then who, if not now, then when?’
